I do not really see the "bling factor", to me it is just how classic Pentax cameras look like and I just like it. I am happy that Pentax gives this option that others do not give, so you can choose the colour combination you like most.

But it certainly does not look cheap, I do not know why you would say that

OK, so who's got one then? Anyone mad enough to be getting one even though they already have the black version? Just think of the number of lenses one could get ...

Is the improved grip really that different?

I need to stop thinking about this.

I got mine, and I am very happy so far. I have not done any extensive testing (and probably will not do), but I took some indoors sport pictures this week end. Last time I did that I had my K20D with me an there is a great improvement. Not only the high ISO capability is great (this has been extensively discussed in many posts), but automatic WB seems to be spot on in all pictures I have taken so far. I could not say the same of my K20D.

Great camera and a pleasure to use!

Having used my K5 in serious anger this week (10k pics) and then going back to the k10 for some other stuff, it's become very apparent to me that the K5 simply allows more. Much more. Be it Dynamic Range, high speed, set the high ISOs and fuggedabaatit - it simply allows me to concentrate more on my pics and less on the limitations.

Having said that, the K10 with the M28/3.5 also rocks for my little monster. I'll post up some of her shots soon.

The limited grip is fantastic. Not sure it's worth another €100, but if there's a swap program and it's around €50, count me in. It's so much better it's not funny - and all they've done is add a second finger indent. Makes a huge difference and I feel a lot less likely to drop it. Shutter finger is up, middle finger and now ring finger have indentations, leaving the little one to sit there. It works.

Yes, this was a high street store (albeit in Darmstadt and quite expensive) but they definitely had Pentax in and on show.
