K-5 Silver... Crashed
We had sensor stain, then af under tungsten light, and now this, such a pity for a camera that should be sweeping the board.

I wonder whether this is something to do with the LV button being accidentally pressed, in which case the mirror will move upwards without taking an image, to allow continuous viewing.

Keeping an open mind, but from what I've read I'm not yet convinced this is not operator error or third party battery related.
Fingers crossed thats all it is ...

I dont use any 3rd party batteries.. I have also shown it to other Pentax users who are certain its faulty.... come on... The shutter mechanism fires when you press 'any button' how is this user error?

I recently have purchaced a shiny new silver K-5... Nice
However it seems to have deveoped a few problems....
The suhtter mechanism will fire randomly, but not capture an image sometimes its a multiple firing sometimes single.
In other instances the shutter mechanism will fire (again without capturing an image) on pressing ANY button.
If the sutter release butting is 'lightly part pressed' the mechanism will continue to keep fireing very rapidly untill the button is released.
The firmware version is V1.03
Has anyone encountered this or a similar problem, when your camera has behaved MUCH differently than expected.
ANd does anyone have any idea whats wrong
Many Thanks for your help
