Firstly, we would like to confirm that this is indeed an official Pentax Ricoh representation and we hope a helpful conduit for communicating with the forum and vice versa.

We do understand your frustrations and can assure you that we are in the process of delivering a wider product distribution of all Pentax product. However, this will take a little time to achieve.

We absolutely share your passion for the brand. Things are changing at Pentax Ricoh but this won’t happen overnight. Please bear with us.

So are you from Escapade ( someone Pentax Ricoh has subcontracted ), or are you actually from Pentax UK ?

if the former what is your specific role in the actual distribution ot the products as opposite to a PR role?

Most stores usually borrow the money from a HP company and stand the interest payments themselves.... quite sure Jessops do the same they can't afford to wait 10 months for the cash
Half Man... Half Pentax ... Half Cucumber

Pentax K-1 + K-5 and some other stuff

I once did a shoot about that very thing; try saying 'Royal Bank of Scotland Asset Finance' without yawning!

Luxury yacht brokers, the AA (car loans), Isuzu Trucks and the Body Shop amongst others.

I was last in the Trafford Centre shop a couple of weeks ago, all they had on display was one DA15mm (in it's box with no price) and one DA17-70mm (out of a box and priced!), no Q, no bodies, nothing else.

I posted the above about a week ago. Today another trip to the same shop showed considerable improvement. They had a Kr with kit lens, K-5 with kit lens (both outside the cabinets), 55-300 & 35/2.4 lenses (all priced) and some boxed Q kits on display. Credit where credit's due, all in all a big improvement.

There's nothing alledgedly about PentaxUK, who will be looking in as time allows.

Replies may take a liitle while, but it's a positive line of communication so it would be nice to take it in the way it's intended - to be helpful.

'who will be looking in as time allows. Replies may take a little while,'

So they've told you privately that they will be looking in as time allows? Must have done as I can't see how you'd know their time schedule otherwise.

I can't take anyone seriously who can only attend to the Pentax PR matters they've been contracted for on the basis of "as time allows"

Pentax UK can you tell us what Pentax Equipment you own and what your shooting habits are?

People try to do the best they can and any line of communication is progress. We can at least be sure that things are being read and that gives an opportunity for ideas and feedback to be picked up.

The choice is to take it as an opportunity or not.

So you don't actually know whether "PentaxUK" will respond as 'time allows' or not? Fair enough.

Anyway I am taking it as an opportunity and I am asking pertinant and fair questions in order to gauge properly the level of commitment and passion PentaxUK claims. And also to find out Pentax UK's actual position within the company or if Pentax UK is a 3rd party sub-contractor

Nowt wrong with that and a bona fide representative won't have any problems with answering

You answered the question by not answering the question.
