Ebay returns

This is what I bought:

HERE WE HAVE A SET OF PENTAX FITTING EXTENSION TUBES, No'S 1,2 AND 3 COMPLETE WITH END CAPS

Having a massive clear-out, due to Old Age and Health problems.

These items have been around sometime and are untested, but will possibly be OK, as I usually have dumped the rubbish!

Very low start price and no reserve, so they are on sale, from the first bid.

Please checkout my other listed items,and there will be many more in the weeks to follow.

No returns, I will post as economically as possible, but Signed For, as security. I do not try to make money out of P&P

My issue is two of the catches on the three tubes do not work and will not engage meaning any lens attached could potentially fall off. This was not mentioned in the description, oh, and the whole lot stinks of cigarette smoke.
How do I stand as far as returning them is concerned? I know the item states no return and untested but surely as it has not been described correctly they can be returned?

I'm not sure the seller has been dishonest as they are sold as untested. They are only described as possibly OK.

It might depend on the start price - if it was set at 99p I don't think I would have a complaint as clearly it is a punt and arguably they are worth 99p.

But there's no harm in contacting the seller and asking for a refund.

Ask for a refund. If a shop sells something "As Seen" they have to refund if the item has a fault that you wouldn't have seen

I'd suggest that life is too short to try and get the £8 back.

It said 'possibly Ok', and 'no returns' in the listing, and you bought anyway.

I suppose the starting price of £7.99 suggests something of a chancer, but even so.

For that starting price I would expect the seller to have a cursory check to spot any obvious faults, like they were broken.

I would ask for a refund. 100% feedback is precious.

Personally I wouldn't bother but as he listed the tubes as used and not untested/not working/for parts you would probably be within your rights to ask for a refund.

Cheers all, I'm annoyed more than anything that the tubes are broken, I took a punt as I hoped that they might have the contacts...but didn't. And if they didn't I wanted to put them straight back on and hope to get back what I paid. But I have a conscience and could not out of principle put these back on because they are broken and would not want to rip anyone off.
At least it was only £8.

Put in an offer on THIS and then with a pair of molegips unscrew the centre element.

This gives you a macro tube with contacts for little money.

Works very well.

I'm not a 100% sure but I don't think you are allowed to put 'No Returns'

Try filing a SNAD but you will need to post them back to him by recorded post at your cost to comply with Ebay/PayPal rules.

If you don't send them recorded and get a signature then the seller can claim he's not received them back and you will lose your SNAD case.

He will have his goods back and your money.

The simplest thing is to tell the seller what's wrong - at the moment he is blissfully unaware of your displeasure.

If it were me I would just refund you and ask you to throw them away - it's not even worth the cost of sending them back.

Ha! Ha! I like his description:

Where ROUGHLY F/4 means f/5.6

Ebay certainly brings 'em out!
