Sadly my usual black subject, my dog Silke, is no longer around, so unless I can borrow a black lab I shall have to come up with another idea.
I could photograph his black Prius but that's maybe too easy.
Greetings, for this comp I am asking for photos of black.
I have always had difficulty capturing the detail that the naked eye sees in black subjects. It is said black animals in shelters are adopted much less, due to their photos which lack in features, as the black blends into itself.
So get out your cameras and remember it is black I wish to see in the foreground as the focal point/subject. People, clothing, animals and still life are all acceptable, no black & white photos please.
I will be judging on the quality of the detail and of course creativity.
I would also like to know the techniques you used, Hoping to see some stunning shots, and to learn something besides.
Have Fun;

Images where the main subject is Black and it cannot be a B&W photo.
That is correct!
This is to see how one can retain the detail when taking a photo where the main subject is black. It is something I really need help on learning. Go ahead....give it a try, sharing what works or does not work...we all get to learn something right????
snoot for slight tones in backdrop....
no that is not a reflection, just one glass stacked on an upsidedown glass to create the illusion of a reflection.
so it is a black liquid against a black backdrop.
tempted to do a pour shot, but what if I spilled my kahlua? Waste not, want not...
I am now on Flickr which is nice !
