Both are favourites of mine

I've recently sampled the odd bottle of Fullers Vintage Ale which is also very very nice
Have quite a few bottles of Fullers Vintage ales as far back as '99. Took a bottle to a winemaker in SA last week - he could not believe that it was as expensive as his top quality wines!

I challenge any of you to drink 3 pints of Dogfish Head World Wide Stout and still be standing afterwards. In a good year it can reach 25% but does vary batch by batch.

You're making it up aren't you? Who thinks up these names?

I have drunk in a place where it wasn't allowed. This could be quite amusing. Most of the drink was alcohol free beer re-brewed. There was absolutely no quality control at all and at a rough guess, the strength varied between 3 and 8%. Talk about a minefield.

and

World Wide Stout- current version at 18%, I have a 22% here at the moment.

They even make one called "Golden Shower" !

Peronally I'd rather drink a beer that meant I could stand afterwards. If I want something strong I'll have a wee dram of a good single malt. Wee maybe more than one wee dram

Could we start a whisky thread too?

Ahh but it's the General Chat section, so in fact we're basically not allowed to discuss photography in here as anything photographic would be better suited somewhere else
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

The English-based Campaign for Real Ale has the acronym CAMRA, that's close enough for a photography forum isn't it?

I could take a photo of some beer if that would help?
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

Apparently.

On the topic of beer names, I'm currently reading a book about (the decline of) bees, and beforehand I never knew what a waggle dance was. If you don't know, look it up on Wikipedia - bees are very clever creatures...

And I might be wrong, but I presume Brakespear is named after the only British Pope?

Any other beer names with interesting meanings (apart from the one that polchraine mentioned a while ago - perhaps not one to look up on the internet)?

Jonathan
