Kanon und Gigue in D-Dur für drei Violinen und Basso Continuo by Johann Pachelbel, that's one of the few classical pieces I can listen to a lot, it somehow can never bore me.

I'm with George here. For me anything from the German Baroque, Handel, Bach, Telemann in particular through to the post Romantics, Elgar, Sibelius, Mahler via the Vienese Classical composers such as Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven. Also I like some jazz.

Not the only one, let's just say I have an eclectic (is that the right word? ) taste in music. One minute I'll listen to Doris Day ( still my ideal woman ), another it'll be Rammstein, then in the car we tend to listen to Dean Martin.
Hmm.

I like pretty much everything you've mentioned there..except Jazz. I just don't understand it
Maybe I've just not heard the "right kind" of jazz

To enjoy Jazz, arrive five minutes after the performance has ended.

Mose Allison is a good, accessible place to start - piano, vocals and smart lyrics. Gave inspiration to Georgie Fame (and it shows).

Nice choice Stefan - another sublime piece of music. Though I'm not sure you'll convert the heathens.

Heard a documentary on the radio about A Kind of Blue which made the claim that more babies had been conceived to this than any other jazz album!

BTW, have you ever come across Ashley Kahn's book about A Kind of Blue? It's a brilliant reconstruction of the making of the album and the context in which it emerged. Thoroughly recommended if you're into the music.

They are brilliant aren't they? I kinda went off them soon after getting into Metallica, but have always had a soft spot for some of their tracks.

I have since gone through a rediscovery of them myself. The Live 'Flight 666' DVD is amazing.
I haven't seen that one yet, something to add to my Christmas list! (71 days to go!! )

for those with confused tastes like myself who like Rock and Classical music, try Jon Lord's Concierto for Group and Orchestra. The best of both worlds!!

Actually I like Jon Lord's music in general.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

I can't listen to music or anything in the background when I need to concentrate hard. Otherwise I sometimes put on the televison or radio. Lots of interesting modern pop and rock music on BBC Six Music.
