Back from another trip to the hospital. Two torn ligaments is the conclusion, plus possibly a trapped nerve - I have pins and needles in my hand all the time. Have to get a brace to wear, and give it time.
I have to go back in four weeks, have another x-ray and check it all again.
There may be a small break which didn't show up in the first set of x-rays but will show up as new tissue in the next set.

On a brighter note my Mkii (no s) arrived just after I got home.

Sorry Gwyn but I think the vets bills will be too high.

No joking- €350 is my contribution to this little fiasco. Plus the price of the brace - another €65. At least if I fall ill again this year it will be covered by the insurance, so it was better to do it at the beginning of the year than the end.
Though last year it would have only cost me €125.

300 quid TT. More than my new camera cost .

Yes we have an odd system here nowadays. Everyone must be insured, which costs about €90 a 77 month (pounds) which covers the basics - GP, hospital, some medicines. You can take out extra insurance to cover physiotherapy, teeth etc. You can choose your insurer, so there is some leeway in prices.
But you have to pay the first €350 of any costs made, apart from a visit to the GP, which remains free.

The basic insurance covers less and less each year to keep it affordable, so more stuff goes into the extra insurances, which can cost a heck of a lot, but are needed, especially as you get older, when of course you have less money to spend on such things.
