I think 900 is a bit of a damp squib. All eyes on the 1,000!

I wonder if the software allows for 1,000.

THEY have had two years and 7 months to prepare for it.

It's the Millennium Bug all over again!

(Which, if memory serves, is the thing that caused Hans Solo's laptop to freeze up).

We didn't think it could handle 200, then 300...

....so far so good...

Off out to a climbing barn this evening, looking forward to stiff back, neck and legs in the morning.

Sounds strenuous HG! Don't fall off.

My husband, showing his age, just asked if the hurricane has a friend called Julian .

That was another Classic show Gwyn. Why isn't there any humour any more ?

A gem of wit does appear on here occasionally so all is not lost.

Well the Photomonk is surviving, and sent a message for Gwyn and others that remember him

Tell her things are fine here, the real damage is just south of here. In fact I am going to the bank and post office shortly since they have been allowed to reopen.
He can't get to work yet , but this is far better [ as far as he is concerned ] than last year when he lost power for 4 days.

That's good news TT.
A couple of my (internet) friends haven't been so lucky. One had a tree fall on her car and the corner of her house. One had her patio doors blown in and smash all over her family room, letting the rain in. Many are without electricity, and one, who lives on the coast was evacuated and has no internet right now. I hope her house survived.
Another one lives in NYC and is trapped in his apartment, no power, no water, he posted a final message last night from his iPhone to tell us. No word from him since .

Makes me glad I live in boring grey Holland.

I'm the same - glad I'm here where we can get wind and rain etc - but that lot - WOW

Seems that 10 miles South of him people were badly affected .

He will of course keep me updated
