I've used Black Circles for some years now and they have always been the cheapest, though they don't always have a fitter near me. You shouldn't have that problem.Just been looking for price for new front boots for Freda

Can't really complain - I'm only at 4mm [ well was in May when she was serviced ] and as far as I know those boots were put on after her Lease contract was up when I bought her 3 years ago

Not so bad then , the roads (or rather the lack of them)and the extremes in temperature around here trash tyres. I think the pair I just replaced are three years old ,bought for the one before last MOT or rather the greek version ,only every two years ...jeff...

Having never used (actually never previously heard of) this site I was unable to assist.

I bought an "as new" laptop through Gumtree. I obtained the phone number from the vendor and negotiated a good price. He only lived a few miles away so was able to inspect before purchase. I got a very good deal.
Sadly there hasn't been anything else I wanted, within driving distance.

I've 'Gumtree'd' a couple of times... Generally a good experience... Walked away from a couple of deals though too (When folk act dodgy they generally are dodgy) that I just didn't want to be involved with...

Another question - do slugs serve any useful purpose? Especially those big orange ones.

They provide food for toads, frogs, salamanders, some birds, and, when times are tough, hedgehogs too.
That said they can eat a plant faster than in grows and kill it. They can transmit all sorts of nasties (which is why hedgehogs only eat them if there is nothing else), and a generally a nuisance.
Now ticks - those are truly pointless beasties, unless you are the bacteria of some dreadful disease.
