We left the kids an "absolute emergencies only" credit card last time we were away. They took out cash because they had to go to buy a present because they were going to a party!

Well - that was an emergency - you didn't expect them to buy a present from THEIR money did you - that's what parents are for

..and that wasn't an emergency?

Curry was great, just back from a day in York.

Good food and beer at lunch time in 1331 bar (Look it up if you're going to York) and another beer in the new bar above Harlequins (again highly recommended)

The down side?

I'm now doing pizzas and salads for our evening meal.

forgot to say we had Honesty and Joe with us..

Had to laugh at the Beeb last night.... 24 channels and
they missed Jessica Ennis's entrance/introduction/cheering
at the start of the race... they were about to start
running when the Beeb eventually got there and the
commentator had to describe how much the crowd
were cheering when she was introduced

Probably the most important event for GB viewers

Purely in the interest of market research, I've taste tested Thwaites Nutty Black, St. Peters Cream Stout and Theakston Old Peculier.

My research shows that Old Peculier comes out on top, followed by the Cream Stout with the nutty black trailing a long way behind.

Ah memories...

... many years ago, as a 20 something year old, I went with my girlfriend and a group of other like minded bikers to a pub in the Yorkshire Dales.
we started drinking at 5 in the evening, Old Pec of course, and didn't finish until 2 the following morning.

Great evening, mostly fuzzy around the edges, but well worth the hang overs.

.....couldn't do it now though, the brain wouldn't let me!

Blow Team GB, come on Team Yorkshire!

If we had independence we'd be 10th in the medal table!!
