No chance of Northern lights here last night. Not even a chance of moonlight.

I did see a good time-lapse of the lights in the US - they were visible a long way south apparently after a really big solar flare last week.

I am currently contemplating a trip to Iceland this autumn, so a nice flare would be good then .

I've always fancied going to Iceland. As a toddler I saw a local bus company advertising coach trips and wondered how they got the bus there!!!

Funnily enough, my other half was talking about it last night. Iceland, not Iceland.

For some reason it has become quite a bit cheaper in the last few years. Seems the Krona isn't worth what it once was, despite all the frozen peas they sell!

New PU meet then? Reykjavik and all points north?

We are seriously considering it, though it depends a bit in whether we get a summer or not (no summer may tempt us to go for a week in the sun instead). Not as cheap as it was a couple of years ago, but it is on the wish list and there are some bargains to be had. I gather you have to like lamb though.

Captain Birdseye had just landed and invented fish fingers at this time. The adventure into that particular frozen shop had not be envisaged, I don't think.

Happy birthday Pa! Enjoy the new tablet. Your wife must want a quiet life
His nibs just bought himself a Samsung Tab. Ostensibly for his music, but he hasn't stopped playing with it since it arrived. He's even quieter than normal now he has it!

Happy Birthday young fella - many more to come.
Loved your "speak into the rose" - I have two poster sized shots at home very similar which are the biggest I have ever had produced and make me very proud to have taken. At your age I was totally immersed in my restaurant business and hadn`t time to take a snap let alone hone my photographic skills.Keep it up.................
