The sun is out and the sky is blue.

I'm scared!

It is too warm to wear a coat, but too wet not to. Because the sun was shining I left the coat behind when I walked the dog and, of course, the heavens opened. Both dog and me soaked through.

Enjoy the sunshine Gareth. "They" have promised us sun from Sunday - and temperatures in the high 20s. Given all the wet there is around now (I was going to say damp - but it is beyond damp) that will make for muggy days and nights I fear.

And it is chucking it down again.

thanks for all the birthday comments here & on my photoblog.

I really feel like I'm going against the grain now- don't have a Nikon/Canon camera and don't have an Apple tablet.
Cheers,
Pa

Nor me, or his nibs for that matter. No iPhone either.
He does own an iPod though.

I've never seen a pea pod for ages

I unpodded some peas just this week. Fresh peas just taste so much better.

The only pea pods I've seen recently have been those flat things which look as if they contain 'pimple' peas.

I've thrown fatter ones on the compost

My marmalade/choc ices are going down a treat

The local wood are full of wild cherries this year. So I'm looking for a good recipe for cherry jam.

Cherries, sugar and yeast. Mix together, leave in a warm place for a couple of months then drink. Add tonic to taste.

Thanks G, already got that underway.

I've considered boiling it down when its finished to make a pie filling.
And so as not to pollute the atmosphere with the evaporant I'll catch it in a cooled bottle, might even be palatable

I was looking to encourage my sweet tooth (teeth? - actually I've still got all of them).

Try de-stoning and adding to a bottle of gin with a good amount of sugar Bernard.

Haven't tried cherries yet, but it works with blueberries, blackberries and, of course, sloes.

Rant time...

...ordered a grip for the K5 from Amazon, a supplier called BestDealUK, back on 19th June.

It hasn't arrived, so I've got my money back today. Now that's not the gripe, Amazon and the supplier have been good.

It's just that they don't make it clear that the supplier is in HONG KONG!!!

I could have got one £8 cheaper on ebay from the other side of the world and chose Amazon because it appeared that the supplier was UK based.

Now I'll have to start all over again..
Cheers, HG

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

PPG entries.

I thought football vision was over. But no, it seems not. Add it back into the mix with snoringvision (golf), Wiggovision (where at least the Brits are doing really well), and some sort of running thing this evening too and it is a grim night's viewing here.
TMS on the radio doesn't improve matters.

I am sick of this super summer of sport.

On a brighter note I am off to Friesland tomorrow to collect a ring I commissioned. Looking forward to seeing how it turned out.
