Well the dark chocolate sounds like a good idea if not the freezing of it.
Dunk your failed marmalade in bitter chocolate for a winning combo imho.

You could try fermenting it into a sort of Glayva.

If you are going to sell them make sure they are advertised with a fancy "Designer" title and a Huge price tag

Leave it out Stan,
Just cos you've had to print a few more labels.

I've rolled it out into trays and scored the surface and put it into the freezer to chill a bit to make it easier to handle. Tomorrow I'll get the chocolate and some sticks. I reckon dunking the frozen 'cores' in melted chocolate should do the trick and I'll have about 40-50 lollies coated in choc

So should go down well with the grandkids, if they last that long

Second thoughts they shouldn't be eating all that sugar it'll make them hyper and rot their teeth - sorry kids you wouldn't like them anyway

Regards
Bernard

Note to self - Shall have to buy another tin of marmalade concetrate and a couple of bags of sugar.

Designer price tag?

Article on the radio yesterday about a designer who has 'patented' RED SOLES on his/her/it's shoes.

Now let me see, several bike boot companies, a few trainer manufacturers and sundry far east companies have used red soles for ages. I assume it's a US patent?

Back in soggy Bradford, had to leave the sun in Llandudno, they need something to cheer them up with all that plastic lager and mediocre beer...

That would be Christian Louboutin.

Some poor fashionista women paint the soles of their non CL shoes red to try and convince others that they really are CL's, with the price tag to match. Sad, sad women.

But then I don't get this obsession with shoes that some females (and a few males) have.

I have always promised myself, that should I ever be able to afford it, I would have my shoes hand made. Nothing to do with vanity, just comfort.

Slightly off-topic (but hey, that's what this thread is about) did anyone see that only McDonalds are allowed to sell chips at the Olympics. Others can sell fish and chips but not chips by themselves.

Which is odd because McDonalds don't even call them chips!

Perhaps McDonalds stumped up more in sponsorship money

Anyway, seems a bit odd to promote junk food at a sporting event

That's the power of corporate sponsorship for you. Same goes with beer and all sorts of stuff surrounding these mega sports events.

If the Netherlands had won the World cup bid then the Heineken Music Hall which is next door to the ArenA would have had to change it's name, as would PSV's Philips Stadium, because other companies have the sponsorship .

Stan - I once had a pair of boots made for me. They were wonderful and I wore them for years until they finally fell apart. If I'd had the money I'd had had a couple of pairs made. Hard to find a shoemaker nowadays I fear.

I had painted soles in the 60's. Nothing to do with fashion, just a need to keep my feet dry when it was raining

If you put enough on it soaked into the leather and even when scuffed it was pretty waterproof.

I don't recall using red, but mainly black/dark green

I'd say it was just about impossible. Hasn't been one in these parts for decades, even repair shops are dwindling.

Back from shopping with some big slabs of dark chocolate........
