That's the power of corporate sponsorship for you. Same goes with beer and all sorts of stuff surrounding these mega sports events.
If the Netherlands had won the World cup bid then the Heineken Music Hall which is next door to the ArenA would have had to change it's name, as would PSV's Philips Stadium, because other companies have the sponsorship .
Stan - I once had a pair of boots made for me. They were wonderful and I wore them for years until they finally fell apart. If I'd had the money I'd had had a couple of pairs made. Hard to find a shoemaker nowadays I fear.
The O2 area is no longer called the O2 because they are not sponsors! My favourite so far was the café owner who, after many years of opening, has had to change the name of his business. So he painted out the 'O' and it is now the Lympic Café!

What's with these spammer who take a line from an earlier post and just repeat it? They are really getting on my nerves. Another one has posted in several topics today.
The shoe maker I went to was in Harrow. My brother lived near him and had all his shoes made by him. He was about 70 then so will be long gone now.

I thought the whole idea was to ignore them and they'd go away. Or, report it to the Mods. At least not so long ago I was told this in no uncertain terms.

They have hidden links to websites within the posts. Once spotted they are removed. It's always appreciated when one is pointed out if we've missed it. Usually they are picked up, sometimes quickly, sometimes after a few hours.
Best regards, John

Now if it had been Austin Tx instead of Austin Mn I'd have been on the next plane out there .

I'm in my attic, watching the next lot of rain clouds gather.
At least I managed a dry dog walk this morning. Well dry from stuff falling from the sky. Still had to wade through sodden marshes that are supposed to be paths.
Haven't been to Hayling Island since I was a kid. I wonder if it's changed much.
