HG how did you decide which washer? Did you have to keep going back to B&Q?

Modern WCs are a pain, or at least replacing the washers is, unless you know exactly what make of valve is fitted you take pot luck at getting the right one, best bet is to take the washer down to a plumbers merchants and burst into tears at the counter, forget the likes of B&Q who sometimes don't even stock replacements for the valves they supply with new cisterns

For you Bradford folk I can highly recommend one on Nelson Street that share their name with an Aussie beer

Having been caught out before with a previous washer I took the split one with me.

The original came from B&Q, so did the replacement.

Cheers, HG

I don't know why they made toilet cisterns so complicated in the
first place. The best upgrade anyone can make is to fit the much
simpler Fluidmaster replacements. B&Q stock them.
Worth it just for the silent filling alone.

If they reset it could they avoid the drought and hose pipe ban?

I replaced the whole flush etc in our toilet after only two years - problem was the new one was not totally flat on the bottom and would not seal -

I had bought another of the large doughnut/ large rubber washers that sit between the cistern and the toilet base - used that as the internal washer - problem solved

My son left LFC TV on - they are showing European cup final - there is an Asahi Pentax advert in one of the corners

I still smile at the old joke about the man who called his house Lautrec - because it had two loos.
