I always wondered where clogs came from until I saw this clog tree in full bloom in Holland

How fascinating Stan - I thought they were a ground cover plant ! When would they pick them ?
Do they have varieties like left foot trees and right foot trees ? And like Clarks shoes do they have branches everywhere ?

Tony they grow on trees. I think you are getting confused with the Dutch VeryWelly plant. These can cover enormous tracts of land and are more efficient at blocking the light from a neighbours garden than the dreaded Leylandi

Hope this helps

There is of course the hybrid Croc plant, though no-one's ever found a camera robust enough to withstand the sight and produce a photo...

Surely shoe trees always come in pairs, left and right footed.

And don't forget that wonderful Dutch drink, Genever. But, as this is my 1000 post I shall go and celebrate with large glass of Scotland's Finest.
