Did we miss the Whitby Pentax Festival?
Mind you, keep quiet about it or before long there will be goths turning up to take photographs!

If goths or anyone else would like to take photos of me taking photos, they are more than welcome. I don't even need a model release.....

How to bring the sun out.
Wait for heavy rain (forecast for today) and all morning it's been generally overcast.
Sprinkle lawn feed - the stuff that needs to applied just before rain.
Sit back and watch all the clouds disappear

It is a cyclone - definition: a cyclone is an area of closed, circular fluid motion rotating in the same direction as the Earth. This is usually characterized by inward spiralling winds that rotate anticlockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere of the Earth.Very strange cloud patterns today Looks like

Nothing unusual about it at all.

Bernard and Tony - all you need to do is wash your cars. See how quickly the rain starts then (alternatively you may be targeted by gulls with gastro-enteritis)

It's called April Algi.
We've had a few warm Aprils the last few years so people seem to have forgotten what it is supposed to be like. Remember April showers?
It is a tad cold for the time of year - but that cyclone will soon be bringing warmer air in.
I'd have thought all you drought stricken souls would be grateful for any rain, even 30 seconds worth .
Edit - we non drought struck souls are currently enjoying a downpour.
