It looks like it will be the #1 album. Not bad for a 77 year old!

I`m having a Paul Simon retrospective this morning - his latest So Beautiful Or So What is genius as ever and There Goes Rhymin` Simon delightful.
Hearts & Bones is on the way from Amazon.................

Never been in a Pizza Hut - Pizza Express can be ok on a good day - especially their goat`s cheese topping.Never been in a McDonald`s,KFC,or any of the other "IN" places.
Tried a Subway once with Emma - seemed ok but expensive. If I were that desperate I`d go to Boots and buy a reduced price sandwich of its last day of "use by"

Working my way through a delightful 14% Cotes du Rhone HG - with dinner by the way - not now !! I get 3 days out of a bottle since the operation/medication !!!!

Sounds wonderful Tony. I've only had it once, in Barcelona. I didn't order it - my fussy eater friend did, and we ended up swapping meals (she was too embarrassed to send it back!)

On subsequent evenings I ate at the local restaurant, she ate at Pizza Hut!
I'll stick to corned beef and branston pickle MMMMMmmmmmm

There was a program about S & G on one of the arts channels.
I always thought that their albums were just quite simply recorded
but it was mind boggling how much work actually went into them.
The drummer for instance searched around buildings to find the best
echo from the bass drum (or was it a gong) and he found a hotel where
he got a great echo in front of the lift shaft..... Some bloke got
the fright of his life as the lift doors opened and he saw this drummer
jumping up and down and hitting a big gong with every ounce of
strength he had!

That Leonard Cohen album is quite good, but I wouldn't want to
listen to it again

The sad thing about Leonard Cohen is that he shouldn't have had to be recording at his age. His manager(I think!) swindled him out of most of his retirement, and despite a court ordering her to repay the money she never has. So he was forced to start recording again to be able to live.

He's OK in small doses, but I'm kind of inoculated against him now after being forced to listen to him in the late60s/early 70s when my student brother was heavily into him.

Watch S&G on BBC4 the other night, still got another programme to watch.

I can listen to LC almost ad infinitum.

In fact if his manager hadn't swindled him I would never had the chance to see him live!

But I do feel he was genuinely surprised by the reception on the tour and how popular he still was, which is why the original UK/Europe tour which was meant to be a few dates stretched on for about two years.

Hear hear GREYNOLDS - the man is a legend and a great poet - shame so many people believe about wrist slitting and hanging when listening to the words is so very inspiring and uplifting apart from the great melodies.
He certainly is better than Dylan - Bob or Thomas !

S&G prog was very enlightening ...................

Damp, dull and gloomy here on Wirral.

Playing with new PC

Is it not also a fact that some of the older singers can be understood and sing better than the new people. (Adele excluded from new singers)

Cotes du Rhone sound good to me Tony, problem is my better half drank my last bottle a few months back.

Still, she's taking me back to France this summer so I'll get the chance to stock up again.

Off out to get some fresh salad stuff to go with the home-made fish cakes tonight.
Cheers, HG
