I second that, In Bruges is a good film.
I also caught another film with Brendan Gleeson in called 'The Guard' recently. Full of dead pan Irish humour, it's also one to look out for.

Probably, but why you would want one is another matter. Do try a Straffe Hendrik at the Halve Maan though. Best thing in Brugge imho.

When in Blankenberge made a mistake and ordered "Steak Americano" which turned out to be "Steak Tartare" . mine tasted just like corned beef and was quite tasty but Liz's tasted like the vinegar from a bottle of pickled onions had been poured over it
The funniest thing was seeing that episode of Mr Bean on tv not long after we got home

It's called filet American here and is a favourite of his nibs, preferably served with raw onions. It has to be really fresh it it is really nasty stuff.
Pack some warm clothes - it is going to cool down next week, but be dry with any luck.

Hmm. It's beginning to look like we're approaching page 700 so everyone is being more pointless than usual in the hope of being the first to post!

Steak tartare just makes me think that the chef could not be bothered cooking it
I know many like it but as far as I am concerned if they expect me to pay I expect the meat part of my meal to be cooked
That's just my taste though - probably unrefined compared to many

I think you will enjoy the sketch, even people who don't find him particularly funny enjoyed that one because like good comedy there is some truth in it

Just listening to Leonard Cohen's new album (I know there are at least a couple of fans out there). You can stream it from the Guardian's page at http://t.fans.sonymusicemail.com/r/?id=h14868540,b7c986d,b7ce3fe

I`ve pre-ordered it from Amazon - can`t wait...............
Steak Tartare made "properly" is delightful - must be fillet beef, must be chopped with a knife not a processor.Lots of seasoning, finely chopped onion, gherkins and capers, anchovies give it ooomph.Tabasco also.I have seen in France Heinz tomato ketchup used ?? Fresh egg yolk and mixed at the table by a real waiter or the customer.
I did have a guest once who sent it back 3 times as it was not hot enough - he was "foreign" and his English was dodgy to say the least - we finally realised he meant it was not cooked - lol - most expensive burger I ever sold - !!!!!

It's called "In Bruges". It's one of my favourite films although my other half hates it.
