According to some people the world ended 11 years ago Gwyn.

PM Pat tried to deliver a package here today, trouble is it was supposed to be yesterday and Amazon aren't happy with him!

My better half ordered an item, paid extra for next day courier and some muppet sent it first class royal mail!!!

We got the carraige refunded and need to let Amazon know when it arrives, I'll collect it tomorrow. So much for 'special delivery'
Cheers, HG

Packages from Amazon seem to be being delivered faster than normal at the moment. I ordered a book for my son late on Sunday evening and it arrived this morning. The lens arrived quickly too.
However some books I ordered took so long Amazon sent them again. The original order arrived two days after the repeat order, so I refused delivery as instructed. It will be interesting to see when the SD cards I ordered turn up.

Meanwhile a letter I posted for delivery in my own town took nearly a week to be delivered.

No one upmanship here but my better half assures me that I had 6o or 61 staples, however, these ran from just below my right arm pit across to just below my sternum down and around the belly button and down to just above the old dingly danglies

But I am still here eight years on which is all that matters

I remember the local nurse who did a wonderful job got all hassled as she left one staple in - it was in an area that was still swolen at the time - weird isn't it - she was brilliant but dwelled upon one small and perfectly acceptable error if it even warrants being called an error leaving a staple in a few days later than the rest.

Best wishes/ seasonal greetings to all especially our under appreciated persons in the health service, emergency services and armed forces

Ah but that's when the infections start as the staple starts to go rusty

Yes they use a staple gun type of gadget.

I did apreciated them cutting around the navel, a friend of mine just had a cut straight across his in a downward direction. He still felt discomfort with it months and months afterwards.

God bless the NHS and all who work for it

I see the RSPCA, has an advertisement on this web site, but cant really see the point, I will explain.

We have had since approx mid summer, a cat spending most of its time in our back garden, or sitting by our back door. My wife has asked around and put notes though the letter boxes of the houses in the area, to try and find out if anyone is missing a cat.

As the weather became colder and wetter, my wife has been leaving the door on our greenhouse partly open, and the cat has taken to sleeping there.

Being concerned, my wife rang the local RSPCA, a couple of days ago, the telephone conversation went something like this.

RSPCA: Good morning how can we help.

My Wife: Explains the situation as above.

RSPCA: Are you feeding it.

My Wife: Well yes, I can’t see it go hungry.

RSPCA: AS this cat is sleeping in your greenhouse, and you are feeding it, the cat is not technically homeless. So we are unable to help at this time. If you stop feeding it, you will probably find it will go away. I will take a description of the cat, just in case, we are contacted, regarding a missing cat.

My Wife: But the cat has been here since approx mid summer, also I think it has possible sight problems, as his eyes have an unusual cast, and he moves his head around, as if trying to focus.

RSPCA: We have recorded this cats description, sorry there is nothing further we can do, maybe you could call us again in the new year, to see if we have had any missing cat enquires.

End of call.

The cat will not suffer, as my wife has put some old towels in the greenhouse, to make a better bed, and it will be feed.
But no thanks to the RSPCA.

We will ring them again in the new year, and ask to speak to the manger, maybe, my wife was speaking to someone on work experience, don’t know why I am trying to defend them, as their manner was completely off hand, but will give them a further chance, before contacting their head office.

Sorry for a long drawn out post, I feel better for the rant.

Take care.
Best of seasons greetings to all.

I've just stacked 2 tons of wood
That did the trick, I wasn't expecting a delivery but if the weather gets worse I'll be toasty.

Now back to the dolls house- I've got 2 days to finish it or granddaughter#1 is going to be without

With the ever growing numbers of dogs being discarded I see no point in the advert which says "We never put a healthy dog down" Why not ?
Surely it is the kindest option, if no one wants them. If I wanted to feed a dog (or any animal) I would have one. The daftest adverts are those saying adopt a polar bear etc. How do I know which one is mine?
Excuse me while I go out and hug a tree
