Hartlepool, home of the 'Monkey Hangers'.

Never been but I have met several residents.

I went once but it was closed Also knew people from there and had some relations who had emigrated from North Shields to Hartlepool. I think it is also listed in "Places you'll visit but never understand why" by Ima la Trine

Already making plans to visit Floriade 2012 and Keukenhof gardens in April. Will probably take a snap or three there. It will mean giving Hartlepool a miss, but one must make sacrifices.

Give me a shout nearer the time Stan if you fancy a mini meet. I'm nearer Keukenhof than Floriade but could manage either or somewhere else entirely.
Let's hope we have as lovely an April next year as we did this.(But not at the expense of summer as it was this year :wink

Thanks Gwyn, we will be staying in Valkenburg and outside of the "tours" will have a free day there and on the way home a free day in Amsterdam.
I will let you know a bit nearer the time which days we have

Algernon, Fosters have been bought by South African Breweries. Perhaps the taste of the brand will now improve..

It is cold (3C) and foggy here. Has been all weekend and today is no better. Reminds me of Novembers as a kid.
It's it supposed to warm up a bit and rain is threatened for the end of the week, which will actually be most welcome. The rivers here are so low that freight ships can't travel fully loaded, and some have ended up run aground.

As one of the young ones I was volunteered to help decorate the local W.I hall in readiness for their Christmas Festivities. The other chap who helps is at least 10 years older than me but is still very sprightly. I must say we have made a very nice job of it too, so no doubt we'll be rewarded again with a box of chocs, even though a Thank You is reward enough.
I had planned to take photographs with the 10-24mm lens so we can use them as a template next year but camera is away for repair, hopefully done before we take the decorations down again.
Weather remains Autumnal broaching on Winter with a few moments of Spring when the sun shone through the hall windows.
She who must be obeyed wants an iPod for Christmas, I was going to suggest an iRon but may have finished up wearing it

I inherited His Nibs' iPod when he got a new one. I never use it .
Not even when doing the iRoning.

I don't need an ipod, my new car will have a USB socket, amongst many other toys, so I just have to load all my music onto a memory stick.

Weather's been brad here all day as well.
Cheers, HG
