I think it's a very complex subject, you need a whole new vocabulary for a start and some of the longer words are hard to remember, aperture, composition, SigmaBigma, I mean whats it all about eh?

Enlightenment story;

In our local paper (free here) there are 2 staff photographers both female.

The area that they cover is the whole of Bedfordshire, and they work a rota system so that there is photographic coverage all day and evening 7 days a week. They also get called out occasionally when they are of duty.

They have vey tight deadlines to work to, there is hardly if any PP work (no time) and they work alone for some shoots.

All shots have to be "a scene setter" to accompany the article with no gory bits etc on show.

They shoot at about 1400 events a year using 6 year old N****n equipment & only use 8gb cards.

They showed us some of there shots and the thinking behind them.

The talk was very well received, and if any clubs could get this type of talk it’s well worth it.

Sounds like the sort of shooting when I go out for a walk with the wife.

She never stops, so I have to plan, frame, and take the shot beford she gets too far ahead!!

Well I suppose it's that time of the year, only a few shoplifting weeks to Christmas, then it'll soon be Easter and our thoughts will be starting to wander towards Christmas again. I'm convinced time accelerates in direct proportion to ones age

Not if you're a cat.

I've just been down to feed my hungry Ginger tom.

It's hard to sleep with a cat sitting on your head!

Might as well have a coffee and call it the start of today...

Have you noticed, even if there were 100 people in a room, the lap the cat jumped up on would belong to the person who hated cats

If there is such a thing as reincarnation I want to come back in the form of and live in the same conditions as (luxuriously spoilt) our cat

Cats don't like to feel trapped, so the person who doesn't like cats doesn't try to approach or cajole the cat. So, feeling unthreatened and knowing the person involved will not try to stop it escaping, the cat is happy to take advantage of a warm spot.

That's my theory anyway!

As the 1 in 100 that always attracts cats I think that they are just perverse creatures.

Give me a dog any day.

If there is a number of people in a room, the ones that like cats will look at it, the cat sees this as aggressive/threat, those in the room who don’t like cats, will tend to look away, the cat sees this as submissive/no threat. Therefore will tend to approach these people first.

Take care.

We let her have kittens once, then it was a trip to the vets
Perhaps I should have said come back as our neighbours cat (the father) which missed out going to the vet but had a similar life style to our cat.

That is more or less what JR said.

I still think they are perverse, but then I would never choose to share my home with a cat.

I think I should further add, in the 18 years we had the cat I never once attempted to give her a bath.
