In fairness to France, they have a habit of doing the exact minimum amount required. A win is a win.

New Zealand deserved their win.
The Netherlands are now World Champions at baseball too having beaten Cuba in the final.
Off up north in a bit for dinner with #1 son. His wife is trying test menus at the weekends for next years on board catering, and fish is planned for tonight. Only trouble was the fishmonger only had a massive example of the fish she wanted - so we get to try it too
Long way to go for a free meal, especially in the Kangoo but I'm sure it will be worth it. #3 son has borrowed the decent car to pick his other half up at Dortmund airport. She has been neutering stray dogs in Romania for a week. Got tetanus and rabies jabs for her trouble since one of the dogs bit her, and her colleague.

Welcome back and stay well.
As for reading the back pages, I don't think you've missed much. Other than the usual inane babble!
So in summary, Gwyn is a year older, rugby referees are all biased and everyone now wishes they had their boilers serviced in summer rather than leaving it to winter.

OK, it's time for a Monday morning rant!
I stupidly bought an iPod touch a couple of years ago, which having checked the T&Cs, I discovered involved selling my soul to Apple.
But I even more stupidly plugged it into my PC to sync it and then (my stupidity reaching critical levels) agreed to install the latest operating system.
So a device which I only use to play music is now full of a ridiculous number of pointless features like Twitter and Facebook and will store my emails in the cloud!
IT'S A MUSIC PLAYER - THAT'S ALL I WANT IT TO DO!!!
So what is the one piece of functionality that no longer works? Music!
It now plays 2-3 tracks and then stops.
So how do you complain to Apple? You can't. Unless you pay them to do so. And more than any other company in the world they have absolutely no respect for their customers.
Aaaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!!
(Rant over)

I feel that way about Sony, I will never buy anything made by Sony again. Reason ? Tried to upgrade a Vaio laptop from Vista to Windows 7 finished up had to write my own eject CD programme after restoring Vista from the Restore discs produced when computer was new as per Sony instructions. I didn't realise to upgrade the OS meant buying another laptop. Also previous talk of rootkits etc.

I get around the stupid installed junk on laptop hard drives by removing the drive and formatting it on a different PC.
Then I just do a clean install of Windows 98/XP/VISTA/7, which ever runs best.
The only laptop this hasn't worked on is one that needs a BIOS flash, and there's no BOIS update available for it!!
Coffee time.

The problem is getting drivers for any "hardware" buttons on the laptop eg eject cd, volume control convenient things like that. Also they don't always have easy access to the hard drive or I would have "upgraded" that as well as the memory. Samsung have made it very easy to upgrade the laptop I have. FC still using the sony makes a pot of tea while it boots. I get around the stupid installed junk on laptop hard drives by removing the drive and formatting it on a different PC.
