Cake anyone?
Thanks for the birthday greetings. #2 son came round this morning with the grandsons for a while. He brought a cake, as well as a present. He didn't think I'd have cake in as they don't normally come round. My husband brought a cake home yesterday too. And I had bought one already. So we have enough cake to feed the forum nearly .
#1 son will be coming later - a real honour! #3 is working and doesn't finish until 9 tonight. We'll see him on Sunday - when he borrows his dad's car .
He drives unless he's had too much to drink. He can't navigate, and doesn't read road signs, so I am navigator, when we aren't relying on satnav. Works well. We have crossed the USA with ne'er a cross word that way. We have also crossed the USA with plenty of cross words when I have taken over driving and he has got us lost - or even worse fallen asleep when he is supposed to be telling me the way.
Glad Freda is home and is fit and well again.

It was a good day. Just back from a lovely meal with #1 son who eventually arrived early evening having been stuck in traffic. He and his wife gave me a lovely photobook of the Norwegian coast. The photos were all made by a friend of theirs who has a sailing ship, like them, but who spends the summer sailing the Lofoten and Vesterålen islands. Inspiring stuff. I can see I shall be booking a trip with them .

Happy Birthday Gwyn
Only 70 days to go!
What's everyone buying their other half - I need some inspiration as I always seem to end up buying her the usual bubble bath, perfume kind of stuff. Want to get her something interesting this year

And I thought you'd give Gwyn the birthday treat of being first.
