No sorry i think i missed the dooms day meeting, i only have a possible job offer in New Zealand.
I might be going there for a couple of months to see how it goes, it would take a year to get all the papers ready to actually live there so lets take it one step at a time.

Ah but there you can enjoy earthquakes and tsunamis instead .

And have to take up extreme sports to get over the boring life there .

What sort of job are you looking for?

How can earthquakes and tsunamis be boring?

haha, well i do know a girl in Melbourne, i know not really around the corner but close enough not to get bored when i'm in NZ

Well it's a little step backwards from what i do now but not that much.
A good friend of the family has good friends in NZ and they have company that sell and do maintenance on agriculture equipment and they are sort on hands.
And since i'm out of a job next month and i need an holiday it doesn't sound too bad

I already had the idea to emigrate in my head for several years, never thought it might come this close to actually happening...

I thought the US was where you were headed.

My youngest daughter-in-law is off to Oz again in a month or so. This time to work for a month at a horse hospital - she's in her final year of training to be a horse vet. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't end up moving there when she's qualified. It'll be there or the UK in any case.

We shall expect to be made green with envy when you start posting photos of all that stunning NZ scenery. I am already envious just at the idea of going there. I can't see me ever making it there now.

The US isn't what it used to be, maybe i'll go there for vacation but i don't think you should be happy to live there at the moment.

That's very exciting as well, i hope she will pass with flying colours.
Oz looks beautiful as well and NZ isn't that far away so if they do end up in Oz you've a place to stay there at least.

The grass is always greener right.
I do hope the scenery is stunning and that they have a more relax lifestyle as here.

Sounds like a good idea to head off to NZ Stefan, I hope all goes well for you.

For those with Kindles and e-readers I came across this CLICKY LINK and thought it may be of interest.

I only thought it though, I haven't explored it too far yet.
Cheers, HG

Debating if I really need the D FA 100mm now I have the 70-200 as it covers that focal length but will I miss the macro close focusing of the D FA ?

Man, hard decision !
But the D FA 100mm is a dedicated Macro and will outshine the 70-200 at 100mm, I have the 50-135 but still use the D FA 100mm.

Now after answering a photography related question lets get back on topic.....

NZ eh Stefan? isn't that full of Orcs, Goblins Elves and Dwarves

It wasn't meant to be "another pintless thread"

Just shot a test length of film in my new(?) Leica, All seems OK now I've figured out how to load it, the first attempt was shredded!

Algi, would I, of all people, call a thread 'pintless', I mean, after cameras there's only drink and food left to enjoy!
Cheers, HG

Bought some "Old Speckled Hen" which Sainsbury's had on offer
at £4 for 4x500ml cans. They have this newer method of tying
them together with the plastic that goes around the outside of
the can (whose idea was that?) It's very hard to separate the
can, much worse than other brands. I actually dropped one can
and the 1st time I came across that type of tie I tried cutting
them off with a Stanley knife and punctured a can squirting beer
all over the kitchen

The older plastic ties are much better

Nothing wrong with Speckled Hen,

Last night I sampled a couple of brews from Batemans Brewery, a bottle of Combined Harvest, made from Wheat, Oats, Barley and Rye at 4.7% then finished off with a bottle of one of my Favourites, Victory Ale at 6%

Tonight I have a couple of bottles of Wainright Bitter lined up
