Any body else out at work today?
My husband - it's not a holiday here . We have to wait until Christmas for our next public holiday and even then because it's a Sunday we only get Monday, Boxing Day off. Our last public holiday was 13 June. Any body else out at work today?
Do you get another day of in lieu because you have to work today?

You get a day off for St Nicholas???? More than the Dutch do and it is one of their major celebrations.

Just back from a trip to the seaside - well New Brighton - howling gales, wet and bl**dy cold - took a short stroll and then back in the Astra - off to Eastham Ferry overlooking the Mersey - still chilly but away from the wind.
Home for a butty and a cuppa and catch up on the emails.
Some good tv last night - Countryfile was super and The Eight with Bill Nighy brilliant.

Recorded Page Eight - it went on to late for us, with the hours time difference.
I like Mondays on the telly too - Wonderstuff, Victorian Pharmacy, University Challenge (are the questions getting easier??) then over to Connect 4 and back for New Tricks.
First I have to babysit the grandsprogs - parents evening at school.
Just enjoyed an excellent and warming chilli con carne, now to go and look after those sprogs.

A day off is better - the taxman can't take his cut of that .
Same with untaken leave - if you have that paid out the taxman takes a share.
