Another pointless thread

My espresso machine blew up terminally over a week ago. Confirmed it was terminal and so eventually we ordered a new one.

I have been without my daily espresso for over a week now.
Today my new machine arrived. Hooray.

Gasping for a decent cup of coffee I open the box, take it all out, read the instructions. Go to plug it in.....hang on a minute. Where's the cable? Search the box, the accessories, check the water tank. No cable.

Now in e-mail discussion with the shop about a bl**dy cable for it. They say it must be there and I say it isn't.

I am not a happy bunny.

I need caffeine......so I can look like this again.

Edit - they have just replied to say they have ordered one from the manufacturer - it could take two weeks .

If I am a bit snippy in my replies you will know why.

I am eight shots from finishing my latest roll of HP5, and I need to take another six photos for my "2010 in pictures" album project before the end of the month.

Just in case anyone's interested, one of my xmas presents was a Polaroid "Pogo" printer. This produces business card-sized photos with self adhesive backing. Shortly after I bought a Moleskine photo album - like their smaller notebooks but with a concertina-style page arrangement that opens out as one long strip. To fill it, I plan to take ten photos per month (two per page) printed with the Pogo and stuck in.

In fact as a result of your blatant efforts to divert this threat I suggest that you now go off to a dark corner and thrash your own buttocks repeatedly with a suitably thick copy of some photographic journal or another.

Hooray! You're back . Aniseed flavoured water sounds nasty. Nearly as bad as the stuff they make you drink before a colonoscopy (truly foul stuff). Hope you get some good news on Tuesday

My other half is a huge Jack Reacher fan. He has now switched to e-books which are a bit cheaper.
Me, I'm in to some Nordic Noir at the moment, particularly enjoying Arnaldur Indridason and Jo Nesbo, with a bit of Keef's autobiography thrown in for light relief.

Oh and my husband is my saviour - he had a computer power cable which fits my espresso machine so I have dosed myself up with caffeine. I probably won't sleep tonight as a result but I don't care.

Hiya Gwyn,

glad you finally got your "fix" - I`m actually drinking less with the medication , but still enjoy the odd Nespresso Lungho black and no sugar.

Reacher is addictive I must say , and I`ve done the Jo Nesbo Harry Hole books so far - really very very good.

The new Cyril decided to "claw" his way up the UPCVCPCV window frame to get at the bird feeder today - soon stopped that by bringing it inside - will leave some nuts on the ledge and see what happens - little tinker !

Forecast here is - would you believe - wet ?
Hey ho .................

best to all

If you haven't tried him yet then when you run out of Reachers try Indridason. Set in Iceland they are wonderfully written books. It is ages since I read a book at a single sitting but I did with my first one and now I have to force myself to slow down and do other things rather than devouring the next one.
