Why poach an egg when you could pickle it instead?

At the spider houshold we cant decide which we like the most, smoked salmon or poached eggs on toast, although the poached eggs just may have the edge
Have you never had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast?

I've just poached my first two eggs!

Oh Yes! both cooked with the egg and cold with the eggHave you never had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast?
As for the egg not sticking to the poaching dish we just grease it with a little olive oil, not tried them with Old Peculier yet though

I've ended up buying a cheap non-stick aluminium pan just for scrambled eggs, they don't stick to that!
Chopped tomatoes and cucumber go well mixed in scrambled egg.

steamed fresh Cornish asparagus, soft pan poached organic eggs, with rocket , parmesan shavings and a drizzle of balsamic.
did I say with a slice of fresh buttered organic sour dough...... is it lunchtime?
I've got a date with a marmite sandwich.

Go on - talk about me behind my back why don`t you !!
Work - not on yer life !
Cook - only by special appointment - my missus is a culinary genius - she certainly doesn`t need me ( two cooks in a small kitchen ??? I don`t think so )
Smoked salmon and scrambled definately - preferably with a Buck`s Fizz
Poached eggs really belong with Heinz Baked Beans and loads of hot buttered toast..........
Rick Stein did a lovely dish last night with fried eggs, fried crispy Chorizo trimmings and a maize flour pancake/griddle scone.
Certainly grease the poaching thingy with butter or oil - Jo just uses the whirlpool method and a cheap Asda non-stick pan.
It`s 70 degrees Centiusgrade here with lots of omnibus clods ( 3 come along at once ) had a short spell in the garden and now catching up on emails etc.
My old Restaurant Manager , Ciro , used to rave over Baked Shirred eggs with chopped chicken livers - yummy !!

After a quick internet search I tried the not water method.
Get the water simmering so it's 'moving', stir the water so you have a dip in the middle like a whirlpool and drop the egg into the dip.
As the egg starts to cook turn off the heat and leave for 8-10 minutes before scooping out, drying on kitchen roll and serving, in this evenings case, on top of a french style salad.
Delicious!
now I sound like Tony!
