That's where the low pressure originates, is it?

My eldest grandson was bitten in the face by a dog yesterday.

Teeth marks on his forehead and between nose and lips.

The dog's owner seemed totally unconcerned apparently and declared her dog would never do such a thing - even when faced with a bleeding 4 year old complete with her dogs tooth-marks on his face. Unbelievable. People like that give dogs, and their owners a bad name.

I would have called the police personally, but other Oma didn't want to make a fuss, and was worried by the dog. She is scared of dogs, and didn't want to make things worse for Merlijn.

She took him to the doctor were he was cleaned up. No stitches allowed for a dog bite, but the doc thinks he will heal OK with minimal scarring.

He will be coming to see us, and, more importantly, our mutt on Saturday, to check if he is scared. It could be a problem if he is since I am looking after him all day on Wednesday.

It's not the dogs that need putting down in these attacks..

..it's the irresponsible owners who couldn't care less.

On another note, I've turned the fan off TT, it's cold, damp and miserable here and I don't think you'd want it heading your way.
Cheers, HG

I would still do that, if only to log the fact that the dog has attacked a child.

Your grandson may not have been the first and next time it might be a younger child.

Not my job I'm afraid Bernard - it's up to his parents and his other grandmother. I hope when they have talked today about it they decide to do so, but I suspect they will let it go.

I would have been devastated if a dog of mine bit a child. I'm afraid it would be the end of the dog, I just wouldn't be able to trust it any more, no matter what the circumstances were. I certainly wouldn't stand there and deny the fact when faced with a bleeding child complete with tooth marks.
I just don't understand some people.

I'm in your shoes there Gwyn , I can understand the dog taking a defensive attitude and barking if it felt threatened but to actually have a go at a young child - that is NOT on .

We had this to sort out with our silly mutt - he was a typical Carriage dog - objected to moving things [ not humans ] moving towards him . We had to explain to the very local kids that when they were on bikes , and saw us approaching it would be a good idea to stop Once they [ and their parents] realised why he saw approaching bikes as a danger to HIS humans they were quite happy . He was never ever out on his own and always attached to us by a lead.

Now if he had ever had a go at a child on a bike it would have been the last thing he ever did.

I reckon HG's got it on suck.
That way you're (TT) getting Arctic air.

That would also account for why the wind here is coming from the north and why Leeds is getting Lake District weather.
