I think the la-la is different though
About me being to young... how many of mine age would know the song Kind of Blue i wonder...
Do you think your children know that song Gwyn?
I believe it's a song everyone should know so i'm curious how many know it.
I meant album

Is it just me or has the thread passed from pointless to surreal? Excellent!

back from a damp-wood lunch
idiots: they deliver a pallet of wood, dry, split, ready for use - and leave it outside where it gets rained on. d'oh! Ah well, decent reminder why I have a knife with me...car is also now clean for the first time in weeks, though it is also raining again.

Also irritating: when you *know* that, once upon a time, you were registered at an online store.
But with what username? or email? ARGH! It's not in my browser, that I know, but still...

What's far more irritating is when you didn't know you were registered with an online store and really want to buy something. Then you find that your email address is already registered. Now, what was that password? OK, try the usual suspects. Nope, must have been feeling security conscious that day. OK, try the "forgot my password" button. Can't remember the answer to the security question (remember, was feeling worried about security that day, so chose a stumper). Grr. Go elsewhere and pay more for same item. Also irritating: when you *know* that, once upon a time, you were registered at an online store.

I always find online stores which require you to register before you can buy anything annoying. It's just another unnecessary security risk IMO - they usually hold name/address/email which could allow all sorts of mischief in the event of their server being compromised.
I'm talking about retailers from whom I might order one or two things in a year. I really don't mind having to type my name and address in every time rather than trying to come up with a memorable but hard-to-guess password and username which hasn't already been taken, then trying to remember what I used when I want to place another order six months later!

I pick a user name at random in Thompsons Directory followed by Postcodes/Phone numbers, each also chosen at randon, which I then mix together to use for a password then store both on a record card.come up with a memorable but hard-to-guess password and username
eg Boxmart: 424RH121XY7223 made up from 3 totally random entries
