... I just got a DiCaPac S10 and it's big enough for a K10+Grip+24-200, but not much more. It should be waterproof, too - I'll be testing it this weekend at a lakeside party

I was thinking more about shutter speeds and apertures - I too old to worry about a bit of rain - just dull dull days and my experience at Southport 2009 was marred by grey grey grey and no great contrasts.

I`ll take my golf waterproofs and an `at

I found that for airshows you want the highest shutter speed possible for fast jets, but equally you need to drop it a lot for propeller-driven aircraft to avoid frozen props (and even lower speeds for helicopters). I know I was shooting at ISO 100 and variable apertures at RIAT last year, the one and only time I've ever used shutter priority!

A friend of mine is a keen airshow attendee and I know he would concur with Matt's comments he uses 1/100-1/150 for prop planes and pans a lot with jets. The pics I've seen of his are good snag is he uses N..n user

Nice bike but I'd rather have a Norton

I asked the same question about this time last year, then used the suggested settings and got decent results (only let down by the limitations of my old 100-300mm, which like most consumer telezooms isn't the sharpest thing ever).

This year I'm off to Goodwood FoS instead, so I need to learn how to pan for fast cars instead of jets!

Me home - exhausted

Taken lots of pics - some are stunning , though I says it myself , though a goodly number cannot be seen by other than those who were involved as they made very very personal mementos of the trip for them . Once I've 'tweaked' some I'll post them - I'm looking forward to seeing the 'Cascades' on a bigger screen

Went to the safari park yesterday. It rained.

Today the sun is blazing - perfect weather.
