Another pointless thread

It should do, I spent ages smoothing all the joints! Not sure it's the best of ideas though as apparently the clay I used is notoriously brittle.

I have to address the points made below ...

What annoys me on this site is some glorified snappers think they know everything about photography, Let's face if the were good we'd be earning a living out of it,and we wouldn't bother with a back slapping website like this one I hear the word use on here " the truth", well the only one who can give the truth is a professional photographer, not glorified snappers, what's that saying all the gear but no idea, that just about sums it up, mediocre site with to many up themselves snappers thinking their great photographers. And come on if we were professionals we'd be using Canon & Nikon ,there that's my thoughts like or not from a it's the truth from a snapper.
It's nonsense to say that the only person that can give the 'truth' is the professional photographer.

However I progress in my photography skills, and I do try and improve, I have no wish to pursue photography professionally. if I did, I certainly wouldn't switch to Canikon. Pentax gear is more than capable of standing upto professional use and many here are profressionals

And anyway there is no truth. IMO photography is art and thus subjective.

I've never met anyone on this forum who thinks they know everything about photography.

I can understand why John has wondered whether you are trolling. I've been here well over a year now and I've never come across anyone is who is up themselves and thinks they are great photographers.

You whole post is wrong on pretty much all levels. I really can't understand how you've come to the conclusions your claiming.

And what about the many amateur "snappers" that have earned well respected distinctions in photography, not least those from the RPS itself?

Whereas in actual fact there are an awful lot of so called pros who know very little about photography other than how to use the equipment and grab a shot at a press conference.

And a quick word for TT:
Sorry but I have to disagree, this topic still remains pointless because you cant argue with someone with views like that

I'll take some as soon as I get the former out - had a look just now but the clay still hasn't hardened properly so will leave it for a day or two. It was really a way of using up a spare pack of clay I had hanging around (bought two packs a couple of years ago to make 1:76 scale cobblestones for a model tramway but only needed one)!

I'll agree with you there but there's no need to make this happy thread into an argumentative place , which is exactly what his intention was

Bet we don't see much of him now

Back to my packing though clothes are more or less sorted , still to decide on the REALLY important stuff - what lens /es go with me ?

Sitting in waiting for a bath to arrive. They told me to phone to get a timeslot but nobody is answering the phone.

Have a horrible feeling that this may not arrive at all!

Nope. Only in England, but as I'm working for a bank at the moment the offices follow English holidays so I'm off. Got a feeling I'm going to be disappointed!

I'm hoping this is the "brightening from the west later on" the Met Office promised for today. Want to go out and play with the mirror lens, see if I can get anything worth keeping!

Well my bath hasn't arrived. I see an angry phone call coming.

Think I'll tell them they'll need to pay me for taking a day off at my standard rates. But doubt they'll agree.
