We got back today to find that the guys doing the glass on the balconies probably tried to get in... they said "as of 0800 and we'll use the general key". Well, the door was locked on the big lock and I've only been out since Thursday 23rd at 1800. So they say over Christmas?! It's not the first time, either.

Could be just the hangovers keeping people quiet.
Not here though, I'm too busy cleaning the house after the wife has gone to work, a quick coffee and back too it.

Still no sign of Stefan (Anvh) then, must be a good reason or hangover for his absence.
I busy printing 73 photo's, then I have to sort them into the respective customers etc. so not a lot of time for other things.

I am looking for two good photos to complete my 2010 album project. I started it in January using a Moleskine Japanese Album book which opens up rather like a set of macro bellows. It can hold ten business card-sized photos per month which I print using a Polaroid "PoGo" printer and stick in with their own self-adhesive backing.
There are three spaces left, but I want the final one to be on New Year's Eve as close to midnight as possible. The first one is a duck which was present in the early hours of New Year's Day at a party (the duck was a great guest, it spent most of the evening asleep on one leg next to its owner's wood burner!)

Stefan has decided to leave the forum - if you look at the last voting comp thread you can see what he said to Lidy in a PM on the Dutch forum. The reason still seems unclear to us though - no one seems to have been any ruder than normal to him in the last couple of threads.Still no sign of Stefan (Anvh) then, must be a good reason or hangover for his absence.

I shall have a look at the Moleskine albums - I love their notebooks - I use them when travelling.

I've got another one handy for 2011. They also do a larger size (takes roughly postcard-sized photos) which I've bought but I'm considering what to do with - it will probably become my next "best shots" album.
The Polaroid printers are now cheap as chips brand new from ebay or Amazon. The batteries are rubbish (it will self-discharge in six hours or so even when not fitted to the printer) and print quality is novelty rather than quality, but providing you don't mind plugging it into the mains it's a good toy. They will work with Pictbridge which my K-m supports, so I can print directly.

Fireworks went on sale today for New year's Eve. they can't legally be set off until 31 January, but I hear them all around tonight.
At least there weren't the usual bangers going off from November this year.
A couple of firework bombs already, but all in all so far so good.
Just the hell of fireworks for the next couple of days.
It will be interesting to see how Timber copes with NYE this year without the calming influence of Silke. We'll ignore him, as usual though.

It's weird how some pets really can't handle fireworks while others can. I well remember a neighbour's cat wandering into our bonfire night firework party and happily rubbing up against spectators while purring away. The bangs didn't seem to bother her in the slightest!

Our spotty dog never bothered his shirt about fireworks either - he would either just look up , sort of sigh and go back to sleep , as if to say " gawd not again " or he would go over to the window , then ask to be let out into the garden and just watch .

Timber was fine until a couple of years ago when some idiot threw bangers at him in the woods. He's now understandably a bit nervous about it all. Silke was totally unfazed by the chaos and noise that is the Dutch NYE (and if you have never experienced it I can't begin to describe it -WW3 would be quieter :wink, and would happily go out in the garden in the middle of it all. Timber too was fine until the banger incident. He is just unsettled by it all now.
We'll see tomorrow night I guess. Now where are my earplugs.....€68million going up in smoke at midnight.
