Well well - it's certainly cold
Just spotted a Scottish Water van with a gadget attached to the 'thing' in the road .
Seems that the area pressure control valve had frozen overnight so it's been thawed out and the local pressure valves have been opened up a bit to see if that will help .
According to the wee man who was here - he's worked for Scottish Water all his working life [ lucky man ] and he's never seen that happen before .
My water pressure is now a good bit higher than this morning and a bit higher than it's been for a while .
Time for a relaxing coffee break
Just come past my local and there is a Thames Water van parked outside. Very strange as I'm in the Midlands. He must be avoiding the wind taking his skin off.

We get our electricity from Scottish power. The cable must be about 600 miles long.

Ah the pleasures of privatised utility companies!
Merry christmas to one and all, I could be off line for the next 24-36 hours.
Where's the beer?

Well yesterday went well, no arguments, everybody got what they wanted and I ended up with a large selection of beers.
I'll just have to drink them now!
Oh the hardship...

great views yesterday and today (will post some pics later); car is kind of unhappy which doesn't really surprise, but it's "only" -9 outside and I feel like I could go out with only a fleece on

I have work tomorrow and Tuesday. A local company are playing "Hamlet: The Pantomime" for two nights and need a techie/stage manager type to look after the venue as the normal one has gone on holiday. It should be fun, but I wish it was happening next week!

Hello all... back again - have taken a break from here since about sept time due to work (way too much, 18 hour days...) to barely think about photography much - so...um...any exciting news/drama/spam to catch-up on?
I haven't got a K5 yet (see above!), still in two minds having been blown-away by a D3S... (yeah yeah, i know...).

Eldest son and his wife have just left. Life can return to normal again.
The BBQed turkey worked extremely well, and was probably the tastiest one we've ever had.
I am exhausted, but have the grand-kids again tomorrow. No peace for the wicked.

Hope the snow storms aren't affecting you too much over there - and if they do you have an excuse to stay in and be wicked .

Your North Easterly wind is what's been blowing in London - temps not that low but a forecaster described the wind as being enough to take the skin off your face .
