My car has coped with the snow admirably, although I was a bit miffed that a Smart Car shot passed me on the ice as I was struggling along the A1 last night.

Well it warmed up to a windchill of -15 this afternoon. I was brave and went for an hour long walk.
It took me another 2 hours to thaw out again.

We have missed the worst of the snow thank goodness, though more is forecast for tomorrow. It seems to have gone either side of the Netherlands, especially my bit in the middle.

My daughter-in-law is now on a flight to Brisbane. Sensible girl.

I'm waiting for a thaw

This could take some time . I've actually no more space to shift my snow to , so I can keep the place clear . I've now got a narrow path to my gate , a path to my wheely bins and that's all.

Don't suppose the paths will be there tomorrow

She passed with flying colours thank you!

From the Punto on all FIATs have galvanised bodies so don't rust away like the old Mirafioris and their ilk.

I had to foray out to collect my son from work, no buses, no gritters and no roads..

..only ice..

guess what?

She got there, (5 miles!) up hill and down dale, and back again.

We didn't have it this bad almost the whole of last winter in Edinburgh. But the Audi is so much fun and can actually outdrive most other 4x4s despite being a big saloon car.

Always fun when you pull into the snow covered outside lane on the bypass and overtake everyone!

I live with two Ducati 900SSs. One is the original 1976 model which is a complete mare to live with, and the other is a 1992 model. It's a lot easier but still has a sense of humour and requires one of the owner.

Every Italian vehicle I have met has been a character - it's one or their appeals.

(My ten year old Ford has never failed an MOT.)

I nearly bought a Duke 860 Desmo way back in 1979(ish).

When it was pulled from the show room for my test ride it refused to start.

The cloud of blue smoke curling from under the tank gave the dodgy electrics away.

I bought a T140V Boneville instead!

The blue smoke is to confirm that the battery is not flat.

I know that Oggy, it was the fact that flames appeared as well!!

The bonnie was a dream to ride but not much more reliable, that was traded for a Yamaha RD400...

...which is in bits in the shed awaiting renovation...

...it's going to be a retirement project the way things are going,

We have mixture of fine snow/freezing rain. Messy.

Still -7 today, but not so windy so it doesn't feel quite so bad.

Snow in Bedford today, less than 1" (25mm) a woman decides to come at me the wrong way in a one way side road.

No grit, road slippery, but the school kids cannot be late etc.

People driving like idiots.

NO offence to all the females on this forum, just me having a grumpy moment.

I expect no offence taken, anybody going the wrong way should be..

..shall we say spoken too?

It's the mothers in the big Range Rovers that don't know how wide their tanks are that annoy me, having had 2 dodgy moments with them this morning!

No offence taken. I live on a one way street and it drives me mad when people drive up it the wrong way, especially in this weather.

So football isn't coming home, it's off to Russia and then Qatar. Money and corruption talk.

I don't mind, having seen all the things FIFA demand and expect, it will save the taxpayers a fortune.
