twisties: mix flour and water with a dash of salt to a dough. Roll into thin sausages - we're talking little finger diameter - and then twist around a convenient (green)stick or metal kebab skewer you happen to have with you. Cook over embers. Eat hot with butter / jam / nothing.. I'll be adding cardamom to the mix so it shouldn't need much.

It's not necessarily up to the standard of the other recipe descriptions here, but boy do they smell and taste good in the fresh air

My video camera dolly is also around 50% done, too. 650x650mm 6.5mm ply, 15mm ply for the axle mounts and 280mm dia wheels. 20mm axles, M20, bolted so they push the ply outwards slightly. There's a piece of 50x50 on one end and 50x75 on the other to add stability and push the axle mounts back out.
Tomorrow I want to test and then I'll add some more weight and also add some more 15mm on the top so the legs ain't going anywhere. Then I can start decoupling with closed cell foam and start gluing.
I can replace the wheels with skids for winter, too!

The M 28/3.5 is fairly easy to come by, the K series version is rather trickier (took me a while to find mine). Well worth the effort though!

My ex girl guide wife tells me a Finish twisty is called a damper on guide camps.

I'll stick to beer and wine, maybe a wee dram as well, oh and the G'n'T...

...did I miss anything?

Huh! I wouldn't believe anything a Guide or ex Guide said, do y'know the guides are a discriminating sexist organisation? FACT

The Scouts can get government funding as they are not a sexist organisation, because girls can join the Scouts, ever heard of a Boy joining the Guides? No because they wont let them in

In deed so. They only allow girls.

Ah, but when I was a scout girls weren't allowed to join, as they can now.

Shame realy, think of all the fun we young scouts missed¬

We had to put up with hill walking, potholing, rock climbing, canoeing....

They don't have guides in the Netherlands, only Scouts. They do have all girl scout troops though. And a right pia they are too generally.

I got thrown out of the Brownies I am pleased to say.

My husband is a Queen's Scout, and two of my sons were water scouts, and also ran the group - one as Akela, and now as chairman, the other just as a helper. The water scouts saved my middle son, who was on the road to a bad end when some friends managed to get him to go along.

He made friends for life there, and they are still a tight group. In fact he met his wife there.

We made twisties every year at ponycamp, on the last day when we held a big bbq for kids, parents and helpers.

I'm impressed with my I10, the first proper shots are promising as 'Ghost Walk' in the gallery shows.

I never made Queen's Scout, too busy drinking and enjoying life to work hard and get the award, managed to get my Venture award though.

so, after going swimming and to the sauna yesterday, I now stink of woodsmoke, as does my Jacket.

The river is damned difficult to video properly, I'll look at the shots later. Panning is difficult on the 501HDV head, it's easier than on my 222 but still...

the twisties were OK but not particularly good, mainly because the sticks aren't long enough for that firepit and they need to be stiffer dough, wrapped tightly in flour and then taken on a trip. The little one wants to take sausages next time, so this could get interesting. She already knows how to use a knife and I'll introduce the axe soon. Matches and lighting fires without firelighters are nearly there, she needs to get that practiced. This is a real find, a little firepit next to a picturesque river and all 3 minutes from the stables
