Bread maker's on at the moment doing a loaf for tommorrow.
Can we have a new section all for Tony so he can put up these fabuluos recipes?
He's so much better than most of the 'chefs' on TV, but Nigella's got better legs(so I'm Told!).
Adsvice please, I ordered some 120 films on ebay from Hong Kong, they haven't arrived after 4 weeks, the vendor is wanting me to pay for extra postage and he will send a fresh package. Is this a scam, do I open a dispute or just pay the extra £1.50?

Tony's trout recipe was out of this world !!
Absolutely wonderful - and will be done again and again and ag......
I'll now try his grilled one with the other fillet - and my decorator man comes on Monday and hinted he had more trout for me

Yay! Hulkenberg is on pole .
Glad the trout was a success TT. We had home made fish and chips with a tin of mushy peas.
My reward for serving up such northern delights? Him watching the rugby - as he has been all afternoon . No chance of watching anything else this evening. When the rugby is over there's Merlin - which he loves and I hate .

Well !!!!!!!!!!!
My wife Jo says I`ve got really lovely legs - so there !!
As far as the recipes go - my pleasure - as I used to say " I spent all my life painting pictures on a Wedgewood plate - now I get pleasure painting pictures on a photographic plate " so it`s nice to be asked about my other passion.
Well done the "Incredible Hulk(enberg)" !!
Good race in prospect for tomorrow.
Tripod set up with the *istD and 1.4 50mm set on bulb for any local fireworks outside the window - we shall see.............
Cyril very annoyed this morning - tapped on window to find NO MORE PEANUTS LEFT !!!!!!! Tried a shortbread - nibbled some and left the rest in the crook of a Berberis Thunbergii - tried some stale Cadbury`s Chocolate Digestives - buried most of those - spent a long time staring in at the window - so Jo been out and bought some new nuts to save the day tomorrow ( let`s hope he doesn`t notice they are not roasted in shell ).

The 7d Autofocus is so bad it's awful. I tried taking a couple of shots on Mannerheimintie last night and it simply refused. I'm like.. "what?"... and then I switched to MF and it took the shot. It's atrocious on video, too, saying "i'm focused", I track and -bam- OoF. ARGH! I'd like consistency, please, this is important.
If the K5 is anywhere like this for quality, I'm sold on it.
Seriously annoying is the battery life with Video. Maybe 2 hours? And the shop we've rented it from won't rent us a PSU and I don't want to spend another €170 on something I don't really like.
Anyways, we'll see what happens tomorrow - I will be practicing tracking and smooth pans out in the countryside....
Oh, and it's snowing

One trick I keep meaning to try with my Dad's K7 - fit the K or M 28mm/3.5 for video. Given how close this lens focuses (car-sized objects are in focus at infinity by the time they fill the frame) I suspect it'd be a bit handy for video and it's also incredibly sharp.

Forgot about the fireworks.
I hope there'll be some good photos tomorrow, and more importantly everyone keeps safe.
Firework hell will begin here soon. the first ones have already been heard but it gets serious after 5 November - people smuggle them back from the UK.
An incredible number of illegal fireworks have already been found. Stored in garages, sheds even houses, it doesn't bear thinking about. Apparently most people have forgotten Enschede already

Amazing isn`t it ?? The whole country is up in arms about cuts to stop us going down the pan and becoming a 3rd World Country, most of the population are whingeing about being financially stretched before Christmas.................and full page ads in the Telegraph newspaper were offering boxes of repeating fireworks for £30,£40,£50 a go - absolute bl**dy madness and what a waste of cash !!
I give up , I really do !

Not if you are going to go on strike and cause maximum problems for those who are trying to do their best ( so they tell us ) and those who cannot afford such fripperies.
Fun stuff - like charity and indulgence - is fine if you are able to afford it without hurting others.Self control is sometimes neccessary in times of crisis and the fun stuff can come later.
Bit like holidays (abroad or otherwise ) - I could rarely afford them on my salary but I didn`t really SUFFER - never had a problem getting a bronzie and a good read in the back yard.

I think I might well try that. Let's see how this shoot goes; the next set will possibly again be with the 7d and after that I should have my K5 in my hands. This is the first Bonfire night in decades we haven't had a fire of some sort or let off fireworks.
The kids are too old now and I couldn't be bothered.
Oh hang on, we have the stove lit and there's some chestnts roasting on top, that's close enough...

the snow's stopped. But more is due next week.. hoping it will stay dry tomorrow, I need the panning practice. Might take some sausages, too, for the open fire that I know will be burning round the corner from the stables. Must remember to put my axe, knife and saw in along with some matches.
