John this the third time I bumped against this so I want to have it all clear now so that it don't happen again.
If I give it a rest then I'm pretty sure it will accidentally happen for the fourth time.
Actually if you go back in this thread i'm sure you can find that i 3 times if not more breached that "guideline"...

I feel I've just walked into a war zone!
I go away for a couple of days...
Can we move on please. I suggest that, John and Stefan, if you could continue this disagreement could you communicate through the messages system, then we can just get back to inane useless banter here.
Please don't fall out, after all this is a light hearted thread (mostly!).

saturday..... all the shops are closed as it's the holiday to all saints' and yet there are guys wandering around on the scaffolding outside doing stuff.
Having said that, we're now on week 44 and the scaffolding should be down by the end of next week according to schedule - and there's *no way* that's going to happen.
On another note, I do not like the 7D very much. I'm very much looking forward to having a K5 to compare it to - and if I can use that for work, all the better

I know John, I've seen the new 35mm lens (not had chance to play though!), K5s are popping up in all the shops and the cash back on new Kr and K5 models makes them very tempting...
Oops! almost had a point to that then...

Aaargh! It's raining again. We had a tiny patch of blue sky this morning for about two minutes. Now we're back to grey and wet. It is so dark I have to have a light on.
Retiring somewhere warm gets more attractive by the wet, grey, miserable day.

The 7d Autofocus is so bad it's awful. I tried taking a couple of shots on Mannerheimintie last night and it simply refused. I'm like.. "what?"... and then I switched to MF and it took the shot. It's atrocious on video, too, saying "i'm focused", I track and -bam- OoF. ARGH! I'd like consistency, please, this is important.
If the K5 is anywhere like this for quality, I'm sold on it.
Seriously annoying is the battery life with Video. Maybe 2 hours? And the shop we've rented it from won't rent us a PSU and I don't want to spend another €170 on something I don't really like.
Anyways, we'll see what happens tomorrow - I will be practicing tracking and smooth pans out in the countryside....
Oh, and it's snowing

John and I are already having a beer while you're having a heart attack over the matter I feel I've just walked into a war zone!

But i all honestly like I've said against John we should put the guidelines and rules that aren't in the terms of use clearly somewhere on the forum because because the situation how it is now is not clear not even for members that are around for years.
And in the past year there have been several discussion about the Pentax only rule.
Many find it superb that it is applied in the gallery sections and competitions but many also think this rule must be taken lightly in other parts of the forum.
I understand this a Pentax forum but we also have idle chats here and we also talk about photography in general and some leeway for that would be great i think, as long as we would not be comparing Nikons and Canons with each-other...
But this all is not something to discuss here so let it rest for a moment and maybe after the weekend start a little topic to see if we can make some clear black and white guidelines for the forum. Unless someone think that's a bad thing?
btw have you ever looked at the Chinees Pentax forum, they never have brand wars and things like that... hell some members even post photos they have made with their Nikon or Canon and all they get is good replies... Maybe it's we who need to change and be more open?
Are we Pentaxian because we used Pentax or because we hate other brands?
Just to prove my point link
Maybe we should all come together and smoke a joint, i'm sure that will help

All the points you raise Stefan have been discussed before.
Ask yourself this; do you want this to be a Pentax Forum or just "Another" Forum, because thats just what it would become if we allowed the display of images made with other brands, it would just get out of hand.
I agree that there are occasions when a non Pentax image slips in and is ignored by the moderators, they are simply taking into account the circumstances and the source/nature of the image and applying a little common sense.
I think this one on this page is a prime example link
