Sounds like the best idea. Are the rest of the course also PU members?

Have fun in the rain. It's only for a couple of hours - think how nice your warm house will feel when you get back to it .
Actually the radar shows it drying out up there in a while. Hope it's right.

DM, I use any modern battery that will fit, with a bit of plastic tag tie around it to hold it in place, in my spotties.

Metering seems to vary from camera to camera but modern films don't seem too bothered by it. The fact I home develop helps as well.
Yep, I have an LR41 in there along with the plastic ring thingy the previous owner included. I'll put a roll of HP5 in and give it a go as soon as I finish the one in the ME.

For the guitarists under us, you now have a good use for all those old plastic passes you never use and have too many off.

If its raining TT try and find reflections in puddles, even just coloured lights can create some nice abstracts.

I thought gathering I a pub, with the excuse of free parking sounded like a very PU thing to do

Stefan, I suspect most passes would be too thick to make good plectrums, which is probably why they sell sheets of plectrum material too, but it is a good idea in theory.

Mr Spider - that was also in my mind I will confess - I want to get some reflections of the buildings in the Clyde as well . I'm just not terribly enthusiastic about the evening - not sure why .

Meeting in a Hotel [ it genuinely is one - the City Inn I think it's called ] is an excellent idea - and I'm not driving tonight

DRAT and DOUBLE DRAT

Weather is not looking good for our Class's night shoot . We are meeting down at the Clyde at 7pm - will be just about pitch black by then .

Got the K-x ready last night - Tripod plate is now on the camera since I find it fiddly .

Got the small camera back pack ready - just the K-x and the P70 in it , Tripod is ready in the kitchen as I'm being collected at 6.30pm.

Have , as requested , sent SMS to tutor to remind him to put extra tripods in his car and got the reply that he has and has put in some torches as well. Sounds as if we will be doing some painting with light as well . Really don't appreciate that

Since it looks as if it will be wet anyone want to lend me a K7 ?
Au contraire! Night photography is all the better with wet pavements, good luck!

I could have been a world famous bass player, but I'm not, for the same reason. Well that and a certain lack of musicality

I know plectrums come in all thicknesses and sizes. Both husband (semi prof in his day) and son #2 are excellent guitarists and they both prefer really thin ones when they use them, though both are more finger style players. Son #1 was a bass player like his Ma, and he liked a fat plectrum. Ma preferred her fingers. Never got on with a plectrum.

It might work with something like the Ikea family pass and other thin ones, but I think a credit card/bank pass type would be too thick for most players, even bass players.

I used to play mostly finger style, but when I used a plectrum I preferred a small thick one of quite hard plastic. I did have a stone one once but didn't like the friction between it and the strings. If I had to pick one off this page it would be like the 3.3mm Montana Agate. For strumming larger and thinner would be better.
