They are expecting me to make a bodge job of this

Quote:
" buy 2 of the 1000mm base units and fit the oven between them . The extra length of the units will add weight to it and help stability."
The fact that it's higher as well so will not actually fit in the height of the housing hasn't dawned on them . It sticks up about half an inch - so will interfere with the correct placing of the hob . They expect me to put it slap bang against the kitchen wall - and a cooling fan does need a bit of space , not to mention the fact that it has to actually be connected to the gas supply .

Suppliers have been told and tomorrow should be interesting .

I wanted a built in oven , and I'll have to end up with a slot in one.

I've waited for 10 years to get a proper cooker and believe me this will be what I'm getting .

For the last 10 years I've coped with a hob that has 2 halogen rings , one of which is uncontrollable and 2 pretty slow radiant rings . My oven is a combination Microwave / convection .

I WANT A PROPER COOKER SO I CAN START TO BAKE AGAIN . I WANT A GRILL AS WELL

and I'm going to have them .

Glad I don't work for the supplier, I think they need tin hats all round.

They don't know what's coming to them.

If I say that the last 5 times we had to go to the Small Claims Court over some rather silly things [ including a claim against out Local Council ] we won , they'll need more than tin hats - full body armour will be required .

I reckon that by tomorrow afternoon I will have a gas cooker

but it won't be the one that I had chosen

TT, let me know the make and model of the Oven and I'll look into what the problem is, Kitchen appliances are all pretty standard nowadays so it should fit, unless of course some idiot is trying to fit a "built in" as a "built under"

You mention a cabinet, "Double ovens" (when built under) dont fit in a cabinet and simply slot into place like an integrated washing machine or dishwasher. and of course you still have room for a hob over the top.

As for the built unders that fit in a cabinet I've NEVER seen one that has a seperate oven and grill, theyre just too small.

I really must be bored.

I set up a Flickr account and have started to upload some pictures.

If anyone is even more bored, feel free to add me as a contact (link now in profile or here) and/or tell me what settings I've got wrong...

I know I can't spell and my grammar is terrible but this was pulled straight from an ebay listing

selling due to the need of a didgital slr for my current course.

Now call me cynical but if this guy is a student how did he get to uni when he can't spell DIGITAL???

Or is this indicative of the class of student we're going to see?

I keep seeing truly dire grammar and spelling in ebay listings, and I have to say that if it's a fairly new item I get suspicious. If it contains an expensive piece of kit and looks like it was written by a monosyllabic hoody...

It really isn't hard. I accept that some people have trouble with spelling but there are free spellcheck facilities available. If you use Firefox it has a plugin to check spelling as you type, although mine seems to be stuck on American rather than proper English. If you're asking people to buy something from you the least you can do is to spell the listing properly!

You think that`s a problem HG - he`s actually selling "owing to the need" not due to !!!!!!! IMHO
