I like the look of that Pea Soup very much, I think I'll have a go at making some.
Best regards, John

Certainly one to bear in mind Stefan - I apologise for my lack of things culinary in the Netherlands - as my mum used to say " that would put hairs on your chest" ( nothing ever did - by the way ).
I have a glut of ripening tomatoes at the moment so I have made a Puttanesca ( whore`s ) Sauce for tonight`s pasta - lots of tomato, onion, peppers, chili, garlic, olives, anchovy, caper, white wine, basil and thyme.Fry lightly and then reduce to concentrate the flavours and then adjust seasoning to taste.Finish with parmesan shavings and fresh chopped parsley.
A sprinkle of white sugar will take the acidity out of tomatoes if they are not the plum variety.
Buon appetito
Tony

I wish Mrs Oggy liked anchovies. It would give me a much freer hand when I am cooking.
Tony - have you tried Opie's organic capers? I reckon they are head and shoulders above other capers.

No problem Tony, we Dutch don't really have a cuisine to speak of
Although the desserts like vla and vlaai are very nice though ^^
Your meal sounds delicious, when do we have a PUF meeting at your place?

Yes Oggy they are pretty good - as a pro I used to get to find all sorts of produce that doesn`t always hit the supermarket/deli shelves and I first used Opies in the 60s when I was training as a cocktail barman and used their red and green cocktail cherries.
The Clement Faugier tinned chestnuts were a good standby as were the pickled silverskin onions and the lovely stem ginger ( especially in an ice-cream or Petit Fours )
May I suggest that the anchovies are chopped to almost a paste so that they are absorbed by the sauce/dish - thus releasing the Umami flavour but disguising the fact that the item has been used. Most people would not know that they are in Lea & Perrins Sauce and some delightful recipes for Madeira steak sauce.
Often the palate does not recognise the flavour if the eye/brain do not register the source.

Now there`s a thought Stefan !!!!!!!!!!
I remember back in the 80`s when we had our Michelin Restaurant and a table of 4 Japanese businessmen came for lunch and we were rather nonplussed when one of them insisted in standing on his chair and photographing each course as it arrived - can`t remember the camera but I do remember my expletives !!
How about a Pentax & Pie evening ?? Or a Lasagne & Lens party ?? Tripe & Tripod evening ?? Fish & Flash night ??
Too much time on my hands..............................I`ll get my coat !!

Oh yes those Japanese
They do make good photos though of their food, I'm quite surprised how skilled they are in it.
That might be a great idea if you're willing to put the time in it, money wise you can ask a fee of course, it might be fun

I feel the need to share my extra positive experience from today.
I've just finished my first day of classes and was about to leave the faculty with my motorcycle (well, actually it's a moped), when it started to rain heavily... I didn't want my camera to get soaking wet so I figured it's best to put my little lowepro camera bag in my backpack. I pulled out my sweater and a jacket, zipped the backpack and drove home in pouring rain.
As I got home, I had to get dry as rain really got to me... After a while, I've opened my backpack and realized that I've left my camera bag with my K200d and my girlfriend's Sigma 30/1.4 on the desk in the lobby of our faculty. I really started to panic and drove back immediately... It turned out that one really honest person picked it up from the desk where I apparently left it and gave it to the security man at the reception desk...
I guess I can pronounce myself as lucky today ... Maybe I should play the lottery
Cheers, Luka
P.S. I hope that one day I get to meet this honest person, at least to say thank you.

I am glad that (a) you got it back and (b) that there is someone else like me who leaves stuff in the wrong place!

It's going to be tagliatelli with a sauce of some sort for us tonight.
A bottle of cheap fizz and some Chataigne to wash it down.
K110+DA40, K200+DA35, K3 and a bag of lenses, bodies and other bits.
Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...
PPG entries.
