Shouldn't that be board Tony?
Haven't made bread in years. Can't get the right flour in the shops here. I used to get it straight from the mill when I lived in Wantage.

I use the bread maker just to do the dough, then finish it the old fashioned way.
The loaf then fits in the bread bin.
They're picking on me on another thread for not using a lens hood.

Sadly I didn't grow up there. We only lived there for 5 years, and my youngest son was born there, in the same hospital as Lester Piggot, but my son is about a 8 inches taller (Piggot was tall for a jockey at 5' . Bred in Wantage. It's a nice part of the world to grow up in.
I do regret leaving there. It was a great place to live. No idea what it is like now, I haven't been back in years.

Well said flossie - pizza rules - but it has to be strong flour, olive oil, salt and water only - hand pressed and then topped with homemade basil, oregano and tomato passata, finished off with peppers, olives, onions and goat`s cheese - black pepper and a glass of Montepulciano d`Abruzzo or a rustic Buttafuoco Pavese( don`t ask )from Pavia near Milan.
I wouldn`t pay £10 for a Domino`s pizza if my life depended on it - although Pizza Express in St.Helier Jersey aren`t bad ( and you get to ogle the sunbathers ! )

Can't be bothered with the hand pressing, so the bread maker is doing that for me. Receipe is pretty much as above, with a bit of dried yeast for added cheating. Used to use Doves' organic pasta flour but they don't seem to do it anymore, had to go back to ordinary strong which usually came out rather sticky, but now found something similar from Sainsburys.Well said flossie - pizza rules - but it has to be strong flour, olive oil, salt and water only - hand pressed

Today I think its going to be homemade tomatoes, chillies (various), and herbs (depends which haven't been buried by the builders). From the shop comes olives (black and green), mozerrella, feta, large mushrooms, and (fresh-cooked) chorizo.and then topped with homemade basil, oregano and tomato passata, finished off with peppers, olives, onions and goat`s cheese
Or whatever else comes to hand in an hours time...

Hmm, Buttafuoco you say?- black pepper and a glass of Montepulciano d`Abruzzo or a rustic Buttafuoco Pavese( don`t ask )from Pavia near Milan.
Quote:
Buttafuoco is a zesty blend from the Oltrepò Pavese, the southern bank of the Po river, and supposedly owes its name to the crew of a Spanish gunboat called Buttafuoco (Spain ruled Lombardy for a time), which landed upon the shore and found the local wine much to their liking. This may or may not be true, but the wine, which is a blend of Croatina, Barbera, and Uva Rara, combines scrappiness with considerable depth, and can be very nice
...it doesn't seem to be any at the usual suspects. Pitty, worth buying just for the name!

I was priviledged to try some many years ago when my Hotel Manager - an Italian from Pavia - returned from a trip home to see his mum - it didn`t travel too well and was almost petillant - but drunk slightly chilled it was very very pleasant - never seen it since sadly.

Got my latest LBA fix. 28-85mm feels sweet, unfortunately I don't have a lens cap to fit (nothing else I own uses 62mm filters either!), the 28mm is probably not coming off the K-m for a while after a first test shot at f3.5 proved sharp enough to make out individual pixels on my laptop screen...

Thanks for the offer Tony, but I've already managed to get hold of a generic one for a quid on ebay. Just have to be careful with it for a few days.
Talking of lens caps, everyone's favourite overpriced ebay dealer has plumbed new depths. £12 for a genuine Pentax 52mm lens cap!
I could do with a couple of the original K-type 52mm caps (with "Asahi Pentax" on the crinkled finish, all in black with no silver lettering) but I draw the line at paying that sort of money. I know it's "best offer" but I doubt they'd take my best offer of £4 each...
