I try
Wonder what the taxi driver will do at 5.30 tomorrow am when he drops me at ST Pancras and is given Scottish notes
Why did they change the time of the Eurostar to Brussels ? I was able to get to St P by the first train last year - this year the train is 06.20 and I can't get the first tube - it's too darn late

I'm contemplating a week in the land of Scottish pound notes. Maybe in October, but it will be dark early then so I'm not so sure about it.
Found a lovely holiday cottage up towards Kyle of Lochalsh which is very tempting for a week away from it all. If I could arrange for something other than Scottish weather for a week I'd have it booked already!
Maybe I'll put it off until spring.
I was supposed to be looking for somewhere for our anniversary, but that is only three weeks away and I'm beginning to despair. I guess it will be celebrated at home again.

That'll teach you to get married in the school holidays! I was supposed to be looking for somewhere for our anniversary, but that is only three weeks away and I'm beginning to despair. I guess it will be celebrated at home again.
Maybe you should be like the Queen, and have an "Offical" anniversary at a more convenient date?

1 September is when I got married. 35 years ago. In those days kids went back to school then.
This year is unfortunate because the August bank holiday falls at the beginning of the week, so it really cuts out a trip to the UK for us as everything is still at high season prices.
It wasn't even certain we could get away for a week until Monday so it is a bit short notice all together.
We initially wanted to book a big house somewhere so we could celebrate with the kids, but there is just no date that they are all able to go, so that got scrapped.
Saves us some money I guess .

Indeed, a friend of mine is setting up his giant telescope to watch it, but unfortunately I'm stuck in the local theatre providing cover for their normal lighting operator while he's on holiday. It does look as though it'll be cloudy though, so I'll be surprised if they see much.

A giant telescope? What's wrong with lying on a patch of grass staring at the sky? You'll probably see far more that way too .Indeed, a friend of mine is setting up his giant telescope to watch it, but unfortunately I'm stuck in the local theatre providing cover for their normal lighting operator while he's on holiday. It has been sunny at night here lately (ie clear skies at night and cloudy during the day :evil so I am hopeful of seeing some. I had a look last night but it wasn't really dark enough and I was too tired too stay up until it got really dark.
If it is as cold as last night I'll have to wrap up warm though. It was a chilly 8C last night .
