Ah yes Slowhand. Seen a him a few times now. Well one of time I never actually saw him, but I heard him.
He played the MECC (a huge exhibition centre) in Maastricht, and there was no seating. So little me couldn't see over the heads of all those Dutch Giants in front of me. I assume he really was there but I have no idea.

I lived in Sunbury as a child and would sit outside Kempton Park during their pop festival. I was too young to go in, but I could still enjoy the music - Arthur Brown, Jeff Beck (another Guitar God), Incredible String band, Ginger Baker, John Mayall (I've since seen him at what was probably the second worst concert I've ever been to), Deep Purple, and before he turned glam - Marc Bolan with Tyrannosaurus Rex. Stacks of others too but I don't remember them all.
I sat in the car park listening to it with a friend.
I remember watching the police going around, kicking over people's beer to try and get a reaction and an arrest. Luckily most people didn't respond.

Memory’s of what seems to be so long ago.

I used to go to the Ken Collier club in Leicester Square on Sunday afternoon to see the Rolling Stones. Around 50-75 people in a basement.
Early 60's. The Yardbirds at Richmond, the Animals at Wimbledon. Last live event that I saw with the Stones was at Brunel University. 250 people in a gym and that was to much for me.

Not so fast Alan I did mention Bob Dylan, he's between Led Zeppelin and Ray Charles.

Stefan - Leonard Cohen. Brilliant Canadian singer song writer - he is most famous nowadays for Hallelujah (Shrek).

He had to come out of retirement after being ripped off by someone (his Manager?) who stole most of his money.

Graham, not a fan of Procol Harum, but the others absolutely, especially PF with Syd.

Tozza - Matt Munroe???

Roy Orbison - Lefty Wilbury.
Bob Dylan -Lucky Wilbury (though like Tom petty, George Harrison and Jeff Lynn he changed hi name for Wilbury's 3).
Now that was a super group

You have to listen to some ELO Stefan I don't think they took themselves seriously, a good pick-me-up if you don't want something to intense.

Ah yes Bread, I love their song Aubrey it's so sad. *sniff*
Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart is very well known because of the cover and to be honest that's all I know them from
Electric Light Orchestra - Roll Over Beethoven is also the only song I know from them...

I know some classics almost by heart but some never got fed to me at all sadly.
Only from the late nineties I know almost all the hits but for the last 10 years I only got very little from the popular music stream and to be honest I think that's a good thing.

It surely is happy music, too active for me most of the time
MONO link or Sigur Rós link is now on most of the time although they give my an headache sometimes
Anna Nalick link and Ray LaMontagne link fill in the easy listening needs (well Ray and easy listen isn't really true when I think about it).
Anybody know one of those?

I saw Leonard in Manchester last year. One of the best nights of my life. I thought he would never tour again.

My favourite Leonard Cohen song is Suzanne. Very haunting . . .

Cohen`s last cd was a collection of haunting songs entitled Dear Heather with Anjani and Sharon Robinson - so so clever and memorable.Alexandra Leaving from Ten New Songs is also a firm favourite of mine.

Matt Monroe was probably the best singer we have produced in decades - sadly died young of liver cancer but hailed by the likes of Sinatra and Nelson Riddle and George Martin.

Real music and talent from two greats.

I was just joshing you Tony. I have never been a fan of Sinatra and his ilk I'm afraid. (Is that heresy?)

Tom Jones has a pretty good voice too, and since he has rediscovered himself, with the aid of his son, I really like him . His new album is terrific.
