It`s actually raining here !!!!!! First time I`ve seen it in weeks !!

Been down to the post box just to cool off - visitors tonight so still not looked at Jersey pics - nice to see everyone getting on famously on "other" topic pages - ??

Must say the monopod was a boon - best £7.99 I ever spent.
I kept the lenshood on "all" the time JR ( except for fill flash )
Managed to fill an 8gb card anyway.

Maybe tomorrow eh ?

Mr Spider ,

It is possible that my attic was the summer residence for several thousands of the wee stripey stingy things .

A few buzzing about on a nice summer evening in the garden is one thing - several thousand - in an enclosed space that is supposed to be for me to use - that's a totally different kettle of fish.

My nice kind exterminator man shook his head as he came down from my attic - he reckoned there could have been as many as 75000 there if we didn't get on top of the problem . From when I first saw the nests on Sunday 30 May they had grown from small tennis ball size to medium size footballs

My son was helping his in-laws clear out an old hayloft just after they bought their farm. He was the only one light enough, and dumb enough to go up there as the floor was very dodgy.
Unfortunately there were several wasps nests up there too. He came down cover in wasps. he only got stung by about 10 or so though, and luckily despite it being his second brush with a wasps nest, he isn't allergic to them. I have never seen him move so fast in my life. He ended up diving into the horse trough!

And dammit, the Dutch won, so my world cup agony continues.

I'm lucky - my floor was floored - if you see what I mean Considering my 3 grandchildren had been helping with the attic clearance I think we did exceedingly well to have no-one stung in May/June when we were working up there, not knowing what we would uncover [ literally ].

I think they abuse each other equally so, but fat spiders are too slow to catch them, my photography is testament to that

I've got a wasp nest in my hit!

It hasn't grown for several weeks so I think the queen has been killed, If I get chance I'll post a photo, although I'm currently getting things together for my hols.

My good lady has offered to drive me down through france to the Cote D'Azure, stopping at several good Chambre D'Hotes on the way and sampling all the local wines, beers and food.

Roll on Thursday!

The only downside is leaving the kids to feed the cats!
Cheers, HG

That's promising - if it was the "7dayshop" monopod then I have the same one. I've only used it once so far but it felt pretty solid.

Looking forward to using the K200 and Tamy 18-250 as we travel down, around and back through France

I'll be traveling light but may take the DA-40 for walkabouts.

Just noticed that since my son got home from Uni my connection has slowed down, I may have to charge him line rental!
Cheers, HG

Just finished me tea, out in the garden after a day at work. Wife and I still in holiday mood tucking into quiche and hedge clippings listening to the melodious Skylark. How wonderful, we have a few of these little beasties fluttering about us East of Ipswich.
