Another pointless thread

There's woodburners and woodburners. One of my children had an ultra-modern, pollution-friendly one installed, that's apparently legal and environmentally OK. Older ones can send all sorts of nasties up the chimney. Reminds me of the good old days of London smogs, so thick you couldn't see your hand if you held your arm out and you could taste it even with your mouth closed. At least you could see what was out to get you then.

Leave your conifers for a while longer or they will spit and be resinous.

Contemplating getting rid of an ash tree in the front garden. Sadly we don't have a woodburner.
If you ash is a big one then a timber merchant might well purchase it from you. Gorgeous stuff to work with.

Once cut into logs and, if possible, split then a minimum of 6 months before wood is dry enough to burn.

But leaving for 12 months or more is recomended, and our stove is DEFRA approved so good to burn wood in our area.

Coffee time the some cleaning before beer o'clock..

Cheap beer for life! That's what Piddle brewery has awarded me and others who have bought from them during lockdown. Prices were discounted when pubs had to close, they're now going back up again - but not for us. Saves about 20%. Can't complain about that!

Sounds like a great deal Steve!

Pubs cafes etc are open again here. Must make a reservation for inside but outside is fine provided you are 1.5metres from other people. Same household don't have to be that far apart. Sadly the weather is not conducive to sitting outside with a cold beer today. Maybe tomorrow...

Our son was going to come round in his RIB today, but it is horrible weather so I think he'll stay put. He spent 10 hours in the thing on Tuesday anyway, helping organise a protest, so he's probably had enough of it. Trying to get blood from a stone, I mean money from the government, to help support the traditional sailing fleet.

It always amazes me how the people in charge let things slide away, then when not in power blame their replacements for the loss of such gems!

And cheap beer is not to be ignored, it'd be nice if my brewer did the same, until then though I'll just say 2Cheers!"

Wouldn't that mean it isn't pointless and thus invalidate the whole point of it?

Maybe it qualifies for a Guinness at the very least.
