Ah the good old Denver boot..
,,,we used to find DVLA ones dumped in parks.
If it wasn't taxed what made the DVLA think the drivers would pay up to have a boot removed when angle grinders are so cheap!

On a somber side, I've just SORNed my motorcycle, no point having it taxed if I can't ride it.
Time for a nightcap, Brandy anyone?

Very true, but then, their vehicle would start and they could drive off.

A certain part of Bradford is well knonw for a large proportion of cars having no tax/MOT/insurance, sometimes all three!
I worked with the DVLA and police several years back locating these vehicles, the DVLA driver ran out of 'boots' and ended up calling it a day..
..at 11:00AM!
and the owners were realy nice people too...
Still, now I'm retired that's all in the past.

The NOT much of anything this weekend...
But the local butcher has just phoned and agreed a order with Mrs Lubbyman, so there will be a delivery of beef to the doorstep.
Which reminds me of a quote I stumbled across a couple of days ago: “See that ye keep a noble house for beef and beer, that thereof may be praise given to God and to your honour.” Advice given to Leonard, titular sixth Lord Dacre, in 1570. Sounds to me like good advice.

The letter that arrived today has informed Mrs K10D that she is to remain inside until at least the 30th June. She has been so since March 16th.

That must be tough on both of you. Is she at least allowed in your garden (if you have one)? The letter that arrived today has informed Mrs K10D that she is to remain inside until at least the 30th June. She has been so since March 16th.

Same here, not on the NHS list but a medical condition that's been getting worse for some time. Only leaving the house for medical appointments and I have to drive. Must now keep out of the sun due to new medication. Due for an op but that's now not going to happen until goodness knows when. she is to remain inside until at least the 30th June. Mustn't complain, though - decent house, decent garden, financially OK, good friends and neighbours, kids keeping an eye on us from afar (and vice versa:wink. And this is all happening at a time when it's so easy to keep in touch with people. Hard to imagine what it would be like if a plague had hit 30 years ago.

Having the op delayed only adds extra stress. K10D wrote:

Thirty years ago was "only" 1990. It's seems so easy to remember what you were doing at the time yet not easy to remember what you did thirty days ago.

Was 30 days ago before or after the start of lockdown?? It's hard enough to remember what day of the week it is today...Having the op delayed only adds extra stress.

The delayed op is made worse because it's a repeat (an upgrade) of one last year that went seriously wrong and ended up with Mrs L spending a few weeks in hospital with pneumonia (we knew the risks, sometimes the unlucky one is you...). Having had a close encounter with pneumonia has made us very wary of Covid-19. On the other hand, lockdown just seems like a minor inconvenience compared with this time last year!
But clouds have silver linings. I started posting to this forum last year as a diversion from what was going on closer to home. No regrets at all!
