https://lotusgrill.co.uk/grills/LGR-G-STD - had a defunct one of these kicking around in work. Asked if anyone needed it. 'No, it doesn't work' was the answer. Fixed (blades on the fan were a little squiff) so all ticketyboo now. Looking forward to trying it out.
Good find - amazing, but not surprising in this "can't be fixed, so throw away" era!Gwyn wrote:

Same here! But instead of being sick with weeding I'm sick of work and unrealistic expectations versus the reality that most companies are working on reduced staff.BBQ tomorrow i think.

We have a Cobb which we take in the camper, ideal for the two of us and very flexible. The Lotus came out after the Cobb or we'd have probably gone for that.
We also have a full size Weber monster, but I can't see that getting much use this summer with no family visits.

Bad day for me today, very down. Yesterday'ds announcement everything stays as it is until at least May 20th, apart from the little kids going back to school, got to me. That and no big gatherings allowed all summer. I get it, I understand it, but it doesn't make it any easier. At least we are more or less guaranteed an income as pensioners, which is more than most are.

I know what you mean Gwyn and do feel slightly guilty about that.At least we are more or less guaranteed an income as pensioners, which is more than most are.
Many people I know are on furlough and stuck on a reduced income, some self employed have lost all income completely.

Alcohol floats on water, and so you should be "OK" if you go for some "acceptable exercise" after drinking all that lot and then fall into something "wet" - but just don't try to drive anything

Nearly, but not quite. Alcohol is less dense than water but mixes with it rather than floating on top. So if you fall into something wet while doing "acceptable exercise", you might dissolve. Not a pretty sight...Alcohol floats on water, and so you should be "OK" if you go for some "acceptable exercise" after drinking all that lot and then fall into something "wet"

Spending too much time sitting around and putting on weight means I'll take longer to dissolve...
...which should give me time for a 100m swim before getting out
On a somber side, I've just SORNed my motorcycle, no point having it taxed if I can't ride it.
Time for a nightcap, Brandy anyone?
Cheere!

SORNed my bikes last month. Will be doing the same with the 4x4 at the end of this month though I did get it MOT'd on Monday so that if, as & when I do need to use it, just insurance and rego needed. On a somber side, I've just SORNed my motorcycle, no point having it taxed if I can't ride it.
Pointless having all the vehicles on the road at the moment as those not used would waste insurance and road tax. The timing is such that my vehicles and bikes all fall due for renewal around now.
Mrs K10D's vehicle is the one I'll use.
Too far from a shore.

We'd just bought a new car/van/mpv thing shortly before this kicked off, on the good side the mileage will stay down, but on the bad side the car's not getting driven and the warrenty is ticking away...
Same with the BMW that I SORNed last night
My old Fiat is still taxed etc and I use that if I need to go to the supermarket, I haven't had enough driving in the new car to feel confident in tighjt carparks.

We suspended the licence on our camper as well. Still have to pay insurance on her though
It's my brother's 75th birthday today. We should have been on a ferry to the UK.

Don't forget that if your vehicle is stolen or damaged while not insured, you're on your own unless it's covered by another policy.those not used would waste insurance and road tax.

All our bikes and cars are still insured, I sold a moped last year and removed it from my collectors policy, 8 months later I recieved a threatening letter telling me I 'MUST' insure the bike or the DVLA would prosecute me...
...obviously the guy that bought it hadn't SORNed it, one quick text to him latter and all was sorted.
It appears that if you have a vehicle registered in your name then Big Brother expects it to be used/stored on a road. They don't seem to understand that people have garages/huts!

I worked with a bloke who had a visit from the boys in blue because the person he sold his car to hadn't re-registered it. And it was seen at the scene of a robbery soon after. Fortunately, he managed to prove the sale had taken place.

Some people call me 'strange'.
I prefer 'unconventional'.
But I'm willing to compromise and accept 'eccentric'.

I had a friend that owned a Sierra Cosworth and he had a call from the police. They asked him to make sure it was locked away for the next few weeks, because it had been earmarked to be used in a robbery.

OH is NHS, too, so lockdown has barely affected us (ergo, she deserves a tasty BBQ)!
