Ah, Fur Elise...

Been chopping up garden waste so it will go in the compost bins.

It was going to the tip , but now they're closed here I needed to do something with it and the hedgw trimmers have done an excellent job of reducing the bulk.

Next years conpost will be going in the bins after lunch, when Mrs HG gate home, she can help and save my bad back..
Cheers, HG

We've been busy in the garden too. Garden centres and DIY shops here are still open, with a strict head count of people in them.
Tips are still open too, again with conrtols on how many people are there.
Luckily our council has placed big wire containers (4mx4m) for everyone to tip their garden waste in. They come along with a grabber lorry a couple of time a week and take it away. We should have had our free compost back from them this week, but that isn't going ahead .

Both of us have aching backs now so further gardening (and there will be a lot more of it) wlll have to wait a day or three.

Doesn't absorb water either, which would mean even deeper lakes in our garden. Heavy clay is bad enough.

The camera trap was set up last night for the first time this year. When I let the dog out at midnight, a hedgehog was in the one place it couldn't be caught on video - underneath the tripod. By the time I'd got a camera to take a snap of the cheeky thing, it had gone. Camera shy or winding me up??

This could be in "your latest acquisition! - but we chanced a visit to the nearby Sainsburys at around 11am this morning, and then walked straight in because there was no queue - thus our "latest acquisition" was our weekend grocery shopping!

OTOH, when we came out 45 mins later then the queue stretched the best part of 200 yds/metres along the outside of the supermarket, along the shop/coffee shops at a right angle to that, and then around a large part of the carpark!

Lesson!: carefully choose the time you go shopping - look for the "likely slackspots" between the oft-mooted "priority periods" like 8-10am and then the follow-on "high-intensity" periods like around midday, and then later in the afternoon and the evening.

I went shopping yesterday. No queue, no crowd, everything in stock. Only sign of things not being entirely normal were the trolleys all inside next to the hand gel and disinfectant spray, and the girl walking aroung spraying all the fridge doors and the scales. Oh and only one person per tolley.
I selfscan using my phone and had to have a spot check, so I had to step away from my trolley while the assistant did her thing. I thought they might have stopped them for now.

I even managed to buy hand gel .

Mrs Lubbyman managed to book a supermarket delivery slot a couple of weeks ago, earliest delivery was yesterday. Arrived as expected, everything present - including the placeholder she had put in the basket to get it up to minimum order and forgotten to remove after adding the rest of the order during the next week. So I'm now the proud and unexpected owner of a large bottle of spiced rum, infused with vanilla and ginger. Only 37% alcohol, so no good as an anti-viral. There must be something else I can do with it...

Shocked to receive news that my Norwegian friend died last week. We worked together for six months in 1974-5 but lost contact, only for us recently to get back in touch and correspond about photography of which he was an ardent enthusiast especially for film. He used an impressive collection of cameras from a wooden large format rig to Hasselblad, Leica, Minox, Rollei as well as a digital Canon and Nikon. In fact the only camera he didn’t own, I think , was a Pentax! Like many I assumed I have years ahead but now I suddenly feel very vulnerable. Stay safe out there.
